Private NYS Hobby Pure Breed Pug, Great Pyrenees & Saint Bernard Breeder
American Homestead of the Original Ancient Chinese Purebred Pug Heritage Preservationists & The
Farmstead of Our European Gentle Giants

Walk The Line Pug Ranch (WTL) & Hard Rock Farm (HRF) are not a commercial kennel but a private family’s homestead and farmstead. Our dogs live in a healthy, enriched combined Human and dog family-oriented environment, receiving round-the-clock care, socialization, and love.

Our Family’s Commitment

At our private New York State hobby breeding homestead & farmstead, we are passionately dedicated to the preservation, health, and responsible breeding of three remarkable purebred dog breeds: the ancient Chinese Pug, the majestic Great Pyrenees, and the noble Saint Bernard.

  • Pugs, cherished for their playful and affectionate nature, thrive in our carefully maintained indoor setting.
  • Saint Bernards, renowned for their gentle temperament and protective instincts, are raised to embody strength, kindness, and loyalty.
  • Great Pyrenees, naturally skilled in guarding livestock and families alike, are bred with an emphasis on their ancient working dog heritage.

Whether indoors or on our safe, well-guarded farmstead grounds, our dogs enjoy proper nutrition, exercise, companionship, and top-tier veterinary care beyond routine checkups. Every pup is raised to fit seamlessly into a loving and prepared forever home.

We specialize in the Original Ancient Chinese Purebred Pug, with a mission to preserve and enhance this beloved breed’s heritage.

WTL has successfully applied our well-learned Ancient Chinese Pure Breed Pug Breeding Method, a practice that continuously improves desirable Pug genetics while eliminating the undesirable—resulting in healthier, sturdier Pugs of exemplary quality. Since the year “2000”, Our passionate, studies, practices, and achievements have exceled us into recognition as a responsible Quality Pure Breed Pug Breeder, Caretaker, Therapy Dog Trainer, and Pug Health Care & DNA Expert, while also maintaining the Ongoing Preservation and Enhancement of the Original Ancient Chinese Pure Breed Pug Heritage and the Original Pug Breed Standard…./

This we do, in order to provide a superior quality, healthier and more durable Pug Breed, for the fulfillment of adopting them as Companions into “Pug Loving” Family’s Homes, in order to induce the joyful atmosphere and loving companionship that each and every Pug inevitably brings into any responsible and deserving home…./ ….

Our Expanding Mission

Building on our expertise, WTL remains active in promoting Pure Breed White and Brindle Pugs, developed over 20 years of dedicated genetic study. As part of WTL’s continuous growth, HRF now proudly extends our commitment of responsible breeding and superior health care to Saint Bernard’s and Great Pyrenees, bred with equal dedication to preserving their historical lineage. These majestic breeds known for their intelligence, have their own unique temperament and strengths, making them ideal companions for families, therapy work, and even livestock protection in the case of Great Pyrenees. Just as WTL does with Pugs, HRF focuses on maintaining their original breed characteristics by selective breeding and dedicated health care practices, enhancing their genetics, and ensuring they remain the strong, well-tempered companions they were meant to be.

Pugs: Ancient Charm, Modern Companions

The Pug is an ancient breed originating in China around 400 B.C., where it was prized as a companion to emperors and often lived under royal protection. These cherished dogs later spread to Japan, Russia, and eventually to Europe in the 16th century, capturing the hearts of royalty such as Queen Victoria of England and Prince William of Orange. Pugs are small, compact dogs typically weighing between 14 to 18 pounds, with a short, glossy coat that comes in fawn, black, silver, or apricot. They are instantly recognizable by their wrinkled, flat-muzzled faces, expressive eyes, and curled tails. Personality-wise, Pugs are known for being charming, affectionate, and sociable—playful but dignified companions who adapt well to various living environments. Fun fact: Chinese breeders intentionally shaped the wrinkles on a Pug’s forehead to resemble the character for “prince” (王), further emphasizing their royal legacy.

Great Pyrenees: Noble Livestock Guardians

Great Pyrenees are instinctively excellent farm guard dogs and are widely used as livestock guardian dogs (LGDs). They were originally bred in the Pyrenees Mountains between France and Spain to protect flocks from predators like wolves and bears. Their territorial nature, strong protective instincts, and nocturnal vigilance make them ideal for farm settings. While they are also great home guardians and protectors of their Human family, they are best suited for farm homesteads and prefer the outdoors where they can roam freely and protect livestock. They are known for their gentle temperament with animals
and children, but they are fiercely defensive against outside threats

Saint Bernards: Courageous Companions

Saint Bernard’s are better suited as house guard dogs rather than farm guard dogs. They were originally bred for Human rescue work by the hospice of the Great ST Bernard Pass on the Italian-Swiss border. While they have a large, intimidating presence and a deep bark that easily deters intruders. Their gentle temperament towards their Human family makes them excellent family dogs and loyal companions, while they also have strong instincts and excel at watchful protection of their Human family against any outside threats. Saints require 24/7 outdoor access but often prefer spending time indoors.

“PUP VENUS”

=================================

Hello, My name is Suzan from Springfield, MA.We are so happy that we found Walk The Line! My daughters and I have been casually looking for a pug for several months now. We found the WTL family through a friend and were looking to potentially preadopt a puppy for Spring. However with WTL’S help we met a beautiful little 10 week old black girl there that was ready to adopt now and we couldn’t wait. We are in our glory! She is exactly what we have been looking for. We all love her, she is so healthy, playful, and happy! The WTL family was also such a pleasure to deal with. An overall very happy and educational experience!

Suzan, Adoptive Mom

What’s the difference between an Emotional Support Animal (ESA) and a Service Dog?

Emotional Support Animals (ESA) are animals that provide therapeutic benefits to their owner through affection and companionship. A Service Dog is specially trained to perform a task to help someone with a disability. A seeing eye dog is one example of a Service Dog. Unlike a Service Dog, an emotional support animal does not need specialized training to handle a task. Further, Emotional Support Animals come in different breeds and animal types and are not just limited to dogs, while Service Animals are either dogs or mini horses.

Pinocchio is a 1940 American animated musical fantasy film produced by Walt Disney Productions and based on the Italian children’s novel The Adventures of Pinocchio by Carlo Collodi. It was the second animated feature film produced by Disney, made after the success of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937).

When the woodworker Geppetto (Christian Rub) sees a falling star, he wishes that the puppet he just finished, Pinocchio (Dickie Jones), could become a real boy. In the night, the Blue Fairy (Evelyn Venable) grants Geppetto’s wish and asks Jiminy Cricket (Cliff Edwards) to serve as the wooden boy’s conscience. But the naive and trusting Pinocchio falls into the clutches of the wicked Honest John (Walter Catlett), who leads him astray to the sinful Pleasure Island.

“When You Wish Upon a Star” is a song written by Leigh Harline and Ned Washington for Walt Disney’s 1940 adaptation of Pinocchio. The original version was sung by Cliff Edwards in the character of Jiminy Cricket, and is heard over the opening credits and in the final scene of the film.

  • Ensure a mutually beneficial and joyful adoption experience for you, your family, and most importantly—your future Pug puppy

========

📬 [4] What Happens After You Submit Your Application: The Initial Review Process (Typically Within 24–48 Hours) Once WTL receives your completed Pug Adoption Application, our team begins a careful and respectful review of the information you’ve provided… This process is designed to ensure that every potential adoption is approached with integrity, transparency, and the best interests of our Pug puppies and adoptive families in mind…
Here’s what happens next:

🧩 A) Matching Your Criteria with Our Puppies: WTL conducts a preliminary compatibility assessment to determine whether we currently have—or may soon have—a Pug puppy whose temperament, health profile, and developmental stage align with your specific preferences and lifestyle. This includes evaluating:

  • Desired age, gender, and personality traits
  • Activity level and socialization needs
  • Any special considerations or requests you’ve noted
Our goal is to ensure that any potential match is not only feasible but also deeply harmonious for both you and the puppy.

🏡 B) Evaluating Your Environment & Readiness: Next, we perform a basic environmental and lifestyle review to assess whether your home and daily life are well-suited for a WTL Pug puppy. This includes:

  • The overall safety and suitability of your living space
  • The people and pets who share your home
  • Your experience with animals and familiarity with canine care
  • References and general background information
  • Any standout factors that may raise concerns or require clarification
This step is not about judgment—it’s about ensuring that every puppy is placed in a nurturing, stable, and loving environment where they can thrive.

✉️ C) Follow-Up Questions & Initial Determination: If needed, WTL may reach out via email with a few brief follow-up questions to clarify or expand upon certain aspects of your application… Once we receive your responses, we will notify you of our initial qualification decision via email… If both the compatibility and environmental assessments are favorable, we’ll move forward to the next exciting step:

📞 Scheduling a preliminary telephone conference with a WTL Technical Representative...
This conversation allows us to:

  • Deepen our understanding of your goals and expectations
  • Answer any remaining questions you may have
  • Begin laying the groundwork for a successful and joyful adoption experience

========

📞[5] Scheduling & Conducting the Preliminary Telephone Conference: Once your application has passed our initial review and both parties are aligned in principle, WTL will reach out to you with a list of available time slots for a preliminary telephone conference with one of our knowledgeable Technical Representatives…

🗓️ A) Scheduling Your Conference You’ll be invited to:

  • Review the available dates and times provided by WTL
  • Select a time slot that works best for your schedule
  • Confirm your selection by replying to our email
This step is designed to be flexible and respectful of your time, while ensuring that we can dedicate focused attention to your adoption journey.

🤝 B) Purpose of the Conference: A Thoughtful Meet & Greet: This initial phone call serves as a mutual introduction and orientation, offering both you and WTL the opportunity to:

  • Ask and answer any remaining questions from the application process
  • Review the adoption procedures and expectations in greater detail
  • Discuss estimated timelines for puppy availability and placement
  • Explore the profiles of any case-specific Pugs that may be a good fit for your home (pending final application approval)
  • Delve deeper into our PPID Vetting Protocols—including parasite prevention, inoculations, and de-worming schedules—tailored to your future Pug’s health and developmental needs
This conversation is not only informative but also relational—it helps us ensure that the adoption process is built on trust, transparency, and shared values.

📂 C) Moving Forward: Administrative Diligence Begins: Assuming the telephone conference confirms mutual interest and alignment, we then proceed to the next phase:

🔐 WTL begins the formal administrative processing of your Pug Adoption Application...
This includes:

  • Verifying references and supporting documentation
  • Finalizing case-specific health and placement plans
  • Preparing the necessary materials for the next stages of adoption
At this point, your journey with WTL transitions from exploration to preparation—and we begin laying the foundation for a successful, joyful, and lifelong match between you and your future Pug companion.

========

💼 [6] Due Diligence & Administrative Application Processing Fee: Now that mutual interest has been established and the adoption process has begun in earnest, WTL requires an initial $200 Due Diligence & Administrative Application Processing Fee... This fee is a critical part of our adoption process and reflects the extensive time, care, and expertise we invest in every potential placement…

💳 Purpose & Application of the Fee This $200 fee is:

  • A non-refundable portion of the total adoption package cost
  • Applied toward the comprehensive administrative work involved in your adoption journey
  • Retained by WTL permanently and unequivocally, regardless of outcome
WTL reserves the right to retain this fee for any sound reason, including but not limited to:
  • PAA’s unreasonable cause for disagreement with the terms of the WTL well proven mutually fair & legal comprehensive Pug Adoption Agreement
  • Discovery of fraudulent or misleading information
  • Applicant or their preferred veterinarian’s unwillingness to generally align with WTL’s recommended PPID Protocol or Spay/Neuter Guidelines, which are primarily based on current standards set by the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) and the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA)
  • Applicant’s refusal to agree to the terms of WTL’s comprehensive, legally sound, and mutually fair Pug Adoption Agreement
  • Unacceptable cases of buyer’s remorse
  • WTL’s commitment to ethical breeding and lifelong care means we cannot afford to invest time and resources in applicants who are not fully aligned with our values and protocols. We are deeply dedicated to the welfare of our Pugs, Horses, and Farm Animals—24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Our time is precious, and we must use it wisely.
If you feel this policy is not fair or acceptable, we respectfully ask that you discontinue the process here and seek a Pug elsewhere. This saves both parties time, energy, and potential frustration.

🔐 How to Submit the Fee: The fee is submitted securely via our website: Clear submission instructions are provided on the 🔗 “MAKE A PAYMENT” tab… Payment is processed through Google Pay or Zelle, using any major credit card account...

🧠 What This Fee Covers: This fee supports the extensive work WTL performs on your behalf, including:

  • A) Coordinating and orchestrating all aspects of your adoption journey
  • B) Processing your application with thorough administrative diligence (emails, telephone calls, paperwork, etc.)
  • C) Communicating with your veterinarian(s), personal and professional references, and other relevant contacts, etc.
  • D) Establishing your Pug’s case-specific PPID Protocol in collaboration with yourself and your preferred vet or a mutually agreed-upon local vet as required
  • E) Preparing and providing all adoption documents, including contracts, health guarantees, and our comprehensive Pug Health Care Guide, etc.
  • F) Performing any other reasonable administrative tasks necessary to support your adoption process

🔄 Conversion to Earnest Deposit: If your application is approved and the adoption proceeds, this $200 fee is automatically converted into an Earnest Deposit and credited 100% toward the total cost of your Pug Adoption Package...

🧬 A Note on PPID Protocol Responsibility: As discussed during your initial phone conference, WTL provides every approved Pug Adoptive Owner (PAO) with:

  • A complete written PPID Protocol as outlined in # [8] directly below
  • Detailed guidance on inoculations, de-worming schedules, and parasite prevention alternatives
Once ownership is transferred, it becomes the PAO’s responsibility and sole discretion to follow the WTL-recommended regimen. Adjustments may be made in consultation with your chosen veterinarian, based on evolving circumstances or unique individual needs.
WTL remains available for ongoing support and guidance as requested by the PAO.

⚖️ Legal Requirement Reminder: Please note: Rabies vaccination is the only canine inoculation required and governed by law... All other protocols are recommended based on best practices and veterinary consensus…

——————————————————————————-

📑[7] Activation of the Pre-Adoption Agreement & Due Diligence Process: Once WTL receives the initial $200 Administrative Fee, we formally initiate the next phase of your adoption journey: the establishment of a “Pending” mutually fair & legal Pug Pre-Adoption Agreement…

This agreement is:

  • Mutually fair and legally sound, designed to protect both parties and, most importantly, the welfare of the Pug
  • Immediately binding in full effect, meaning all terms and conditions outlined within the agreement are now active and enforceable
  • This marks the official start of WTL’s Due Diligence Process, a comprehensive administrative and ethical review that ensures every adoption is handled with care, precision, and integrity.

🕰️ Timeline & Scope of Due Diligence: The Due Diligence process typically takes 5 to 10 business days to complete, though this may vary depending on:

  • Response times from third-party contacts such as veterinarians and personal/professional references
  • The coordination required to establish your Pug’s case-specific PPID Protocol with yourself and/or your chosen Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM)
  • Any unforeseen delays due to higher-priority responsibilities or external distractions
WTL is committed to thoroughness, and we appreciate your patience as we conduct this essential work.

📞 Communication During Diligence: Throughout this process, WTL MAY as necessary:

  • Contact you (the Pug Adoptive Applicant, or PAA) directly via telephone or email for additional information, clarification, or discussion
  • Reach out to your listed references to verify details and gather supporting insights
  • Consult with your preferred veterinarian to ensure alignment with our health and care protocols
  • Utilize publicly available electronic verification tools to confirm non-private information as needed
Every step is taken with respect and discretion, and all communications are handled professionally and case-specifically

========

🧬[8] Understanding WTL’s well learned recommended PPID Protocols & standard Spay/Neuter Guidelines: As part of our commitment to responsible, breed-specific care, WTL provides every Pug Adoptive Applicant (PAA) with access to our thoroughly researched and experience-based PPID Protocols and Spay/Neuter Guidelines via our website… These protocols are not arbitrary—they are highly proprietary and reflect years of hands-on experience, veterinary collaboration, and general alignment with the most current standards set by the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) and the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), with a general preference to Holistic care whenever it presents the most appropriate alternatives…

📚 PPID Protocols: A Modern, Minimalist Approach to Preventative Care: WTL’s PPID (Parasite Prevention, Inoculations, and De-Worming) philosophy centers on Pug owner education, hygiene, and clinical necessity... Our approach is designed to:

  • Educate the PAO and their family on proper Pug-specific health care
  • Promote hygiene to Pugs and owners as well as abstinence from common sources of Pug disease and parasites
  • Administer only the core virus vaccinations recommended by AAHA and AVMA
  • Establish a regimented schedule of preventative veterinary checkups and blood tests
This protocol intentionally minimizes the use of non-core virus inoculations and chemical parasite preventatives, many of which are controversial and often unnecessary. These substances—sometimes referred to as “killer drugs” in veterinary circles—are only recommended when a clinical need is identified by the PAO’s chosen Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM).

✂️ Spay/Neuter Guidelines: Timing Matters: WTL’s Spay/Neuter Guidelines are based on breed-specific research and beneficial long-term health outcomes... For example, for a Pug born on December 4, 2019, the recommended spay/neuter window would be:

  • Acceptable Range: September 4, 2019 – June 4, 2020 (9 to 18 months of age)
  • Preferred Range: December 4, 2019 – March 4, 2020 (12 to 15 months of age), ideally after the first estrus in females. Upon the PAO’s private DVM’s discretion, unless the DVM presents a legitimate Health concern for Pug’s Health benefit, to not spay/neuter, or requests for legitimate clinical reason, a later date change alteration in writing. WTL will then either approve of the preclusion or date change alteration back in writing, or possibly opt further discussion with the DVM prior to approval
  • Early spay/neuter (before 9 months) is not acceptable unless there is a legitimate clinical reason or a suspected health threat identified by the DVM. In cases of emergency, treatment decisions are to be made solely between the PAO and their DVM. The two parties are to then determine the best treatment plan & administer such treatment immediately upon discretion of the DVM. WTL shall be notified in DVM’s writing, a brief report, cause of the event, along with end results, and DVM’s endorsement, at the (PAO’s Responsibility), WTL must be notified in writing within 7 days of the event,

⚠️ Why Timing Is Critical: Modern veterinary research has shown that spaying or neutering too early can lead to serious long-term health issues, including:

Hormonal underdevelopment and lifelong endocrine disorders

  • Increased risk of incontinence, immune deficiencies, and hip dysplasia
  • Higher incidence of bone cancer, ligament injuries, and abnormal bone growth
  • Behavioral challenges such as aggression, noise phobias, and fear responses
  • Greater likelihood of adverse reactions to anesthesia, NSAIDs, and antibiotics
Spay/neuter is essential to prevent unwanted pregnancies and reproductive diseases, but timing and clinical discretion matter deeply.

🗣️ Collaboration with Your Veterinarian: Once the PAA has reviewed and familiarized WTL’s PPID and Spay/Neuter materials, it is mandatory to:

  • Share and discuss these protocols with your current DVM along with the impacts of Geographical location
  • Especially review the “gray area” of non-core protocols, where veterinary opinions may vary
WTL will provide a PDF version of the WTL recommended “PPID Protocol” & the Spay/Neuter Guidelines via email for this purpose. If questions arise, WTL strongly encourages a two- or three-way telephone conference between the PAA, WTL, and the DVM engaging all the parties educated input, practice & experience to ensure mutual understanding and case-specific planning. This is to be orchestrated by the PAA
  • If afterwards the Pug Adoptive Applicant agrees generally with the WTL approach and the intended DVM fundamentally disagrees with WTL’s approach, and you wish to explore alternatives, WTL can refer you to modern, breed-aware veterinarians throughout the Northeastern United States who are familiar with and supportive of our protocols
  • WTL has several already established relationships  throughout the North East United States with certain DVM’S that generally share the WTL PPID approach, which we can refer the PAA to in order for your further one on one discussion and advice accordingly…

🛡️ WTL’s Ethical Commitment: WTL invests hundreds of hours into breeding, weaning, and raising each Pug puppy to ensure they are healthy, emotionally stable, and ready for lifelong companionship… We do not undertake this work only to see our puppies subjected to unnecessary chemical interventions when safe, industry-recognized alternatives exist…
We ask every applicant to do their own diligence. If you generally agree with
WTL’s modern, minimalist PPID approach and our spay/neuter timing guidelines, we will proceed to the next step. If you feel overwhelmed or uncertain, we are happy to schedule additional phone conferences for further explanation…

📌 Final Notes on Authority & Ownership:

  • All PPID and spay/neuter decisions—except for rabies inoculations, which are governed by law—are at the sole discretion of the final Pug owner, unless a clinical concern is identified by the DVM
  • The DVM’s role is to educate and advise, not to dictate. WTL recommends seeking a second opinion. Often the DVM’s practices may not even be Breed specific. If a DVM ever attempts to force you to follow their standard practice with out clinical cause, WTL recommends seeking a new Vet
  • WTL retains primary ownership of all Pug puppies until 12–18 months of age, pending fulfillment of the spay/neuter agreement. During this period, WTL maintains authority over the puppy’s preventative care protocols, unless overridden by a legitimate veterinary clinical health concern

========

✅[9] Final Review, Decision, and Next Steps: Once all parties have thoroughly discussed and reached mutual understanding regarding the Pug’s final recommended PPID Protocol and Spay/Neuter Guidelines, WTL proceeds to complete any remaining components of the Pug Adoptive Applicant’s (PAA) due diligence and administrative review…

This final phase ensures that:

  • All communications have been completed
  • All references and veterinary consultations have been verified
  • The Pug’s case-specific health plan is fully documented and agreed upon

📬 Notification of Final Decision: Upon completion of this process, WTL will notify the PAA of one of the following outcomes:

  • Approval: The adoption application is fully approved, and we move forward together toward a Permanent Pug Puppy Adoption Agreement or Pre-Adoption Contract, depending on timing and readiness.
  • Conditional Approval: The application is approved with specific contingencies that must be addressed or clarified before proceeding. These may involve additional documentation, veterinary input, or minor adjustments to the adoption plan.
  • Disapproval: If WTL determines that the adoption is not in the best interest of the Pug or the applicant, we will respectfully decline the application. In such cases, WTL will provide justifiable reasons for the decision, based on our ethical standards and case-specific findings.

💰 Fee & Deposit Disbursement: In all cases, the $200 Due Diligence & Administrative Application Processing Fee remains non-refundable, as previously outlined... Any additional deposits on hand will be handled according to:

  • The terms described on this page (above and below)
  • The specific provisions outlined in the Pug Adoption Contract Agreement
This ensures transparency and fairness in all financial matters, while honoring the time, care, and resources invested by both parties.

WTL’s goal is to ensure that every adoption is built on mutual respect, shared values, and a deep commitment to the lifelong well-being of our Pugs... Whether we move forward together or respectfully part ways, we appreciate your interest and the care you’ve shown throughout this process…

========

🐶 [10] Selecting Your Pug Puppy & Preparing for Adoption: Assuming we are now mutually committed to moving forward with a Permanent Pug Adoption Contract Agreement, and you have not yet selected a specific puppy, this next phase focuses on helping you find the perfect match for your home, lifestyle, and long-term goals...

🧬 Case-Specific Puppy Matching: WTL will guide you through our available or upcoming litters, highlighting puppies that meet your case-specific criteria... These criteria may include:

  • Gender, temperament, and energy level

  • Health history and developmental milestones
  • DNA-matched lineage and immune-sufficiency traits
If needed, WTL will post photos and profiles of available puppies on our website for your consideration. We take the time to ensure that every match is thoughtful, informed, and emotionally resonant.

🏡 Preparing for Your Pug’s Arrival: This stage is more than just choosing a puppy—it’s about preparing your life to welcome a new family member... WTL will take as much time as necessary to discuss every aspect of responsible Pug ownership, including:

  • 🩺 Health Care Requirements
Understanding breed-specific needs, preventative care schedules, and long-term wellness strategies
  • 💰 Financial Considerations
Budgeting for veterinary care, nutrition, grooming, and emergency preparedness

In such cases:

  • All advance payments made toward the non-refundable Administrative Fee and the Pug Health Care Guide Fee will be 100% forfeited, without recourse
  • These terms are clearly outlined in paragraphs #6 and #11 of the adoption process
  • WTL will consider the matter closed and will not proceed further with the adoption

  • Conducted extensive due diligence

========

🐾[13] Final Puppy Selection, Exclusive Hold Fee & Adoption Package Finalization: Once you’ve completed your Pug Puppy Criteria Discussions with WTL, and have reviewed available case-specific puppies under the “PUGS GALLERY” tab on our website, you are now invited to make your final puppy selection or submit your preferred criteria for a future puppy in the case of a Pre-Adoption Contract Agreement…

🔒 Exclusive Puppy Hold Fee: To secure your chosen puppy—or reserve a guaranteed spot for a yet unborn puppy—WTL requires a $1,200 “Exclusive Puppy Hold” Fee... This fee provides:

  • Peace of mind knowing your selected puppy is held exclusively for you
  • Priority placement in an upcoming litter based on your criteria
  • Dedicated time and resources from WTL, ensuring your adoption journey is personalized and protected
    Once this fee is submitted:
  • The selected puppy is removed from public availability
  • WTL’s time and planning are fully committed to your adoption case
  • The puppy is no longer adoptable by any other applicant

🧭 In-Person Selection Option (Adolescents & Adults Only): If you are still uncertain about your selection and are considering an adolescent (14 weeks to 3 years) or adult Pug, WTL may offer an in-person selection visit to our private farm—by appointment only and subject to mutual agreement…

Due to health and safety concerns:

  • Puppies are not available for in-person visits until they have completed their full vaccination series
  • All visitors must read and accept the terms outlined under the “VISITATIONS” tab on our website
  • A release of liability waiver must be signed prior to any visit

🐶 Pre-Whelping Pre-Adoption Contract: If Your Requested Puppy Criteria Is Not Met: In the rare event that your requested puppy (e.g., a female) is not born in the expected litter, you will have three options:

  1. Select another puppy from the same litter, if available and agreeable
  2. Float your adoption contract and funds to the next litter, maintaining your original criteria
  3. Terminate the contract via a mutually fair and legal Contract Termination Agreement
  • The $200 Administrative Fee and $200 Health Care Guide Fee are non-refundable as described in paragraphs #6 & #11 above
  • Any additional deposits toward the puppy or hold fees will be refunded in full
Failure to respond within 48 hours will result in the contract termination offer being rescinded, and all terms will revert to the original WTL Pug Adoption Contract Agreement.

🐾 Post-Whelping Pre-Adoption Contract: If Something Happens to Your Selected Puppy
In the highly unlikely event that your selected puppy becomes unavailable due to unforeseen health circumstances between the contract date and the adoption/possession date, you will be offered the same three options as outlined above
...

📦 Finalizing Your Adoption Package: Once your puppy selection is confirmed, you will also decide which Adoption Package Options you’d like to include… These are listed under the “ADOPT PKGE PUGS” tab on our website, about halfway down the page under the ADOPTION PACKAGE OPTIONS SECTION…

We will then work together to establish a mutually agreeable adoption date, time, and location, based on:

  • Your proximity and travel preferences
  • WTL’s general schedule and availability
  • The puppy’s readiness (weaning, vaccinations, de-worming, etc.)
  • Once an adoption date has been initially established it may be changed at the sole discretion of WTL for any practical reason whatsoever, normally having to do with the pups weaning completion or perhaps scheduling conflicts…

🚗 Adoption Location & Delivery Options: WTL prefers that all adoptions take place at our Pug Ranch, where we can personally guide you through the final steps… However, in cases of hardship, extended travel, or scheduling conflicts, WTL may approve an alternate adoption location… An adoption contract signator must be present at the actual adoption, regardless of location

  • Adoptions within one hour of WTL’s location are free of delivery fees, within WTL’s available travel schedule
  • Beyond one hour, delivery is charged at $1.00 per mile
Once all options are finalized, your total Adoption Package Fee will be calculated and mutually agreed upon.

🔐 Confidentiality & Contract Adjustments: All information submitted in your Pug Adoption Application is kept strictly confidential and used solely to determine your eligibility and match suitability...

Once WTL’S determinations have been made final based on that information and assuming that the adoption has been approved, any/all changes & particularly changes that are related to “Adoption Contract Options”,  must be mutually agreed to and an overall re-evaluation of our original adoption approval may have to be reconsidered… If changes are requested after the application information has gone to contract, WTL will potentially make any requested contract changes, terminations, approvals, disapproval’s, etc... as is governed under the contract and what we feel is in the best future interests or our Pug…

  • If no harm or cost has been incurred, changes may be made without additional fees
  • If costs or adjustments are required, additional fees may apply
  • If a Contract Termination Request is submitted, WTL will fairly consider a partial refund based on the specific circumstances or hardship. Otherwise, all deposits will be retained to cover damages, time, and administrative costs as outlined in the contract.

🙏 Thank You for Your Understanding: WTL’s adoption process is built on trust, transparency, and a shared commitment to the lifelong health and happiness of our Pugs… We appreciate your dedication and look forward to helping you welcome your new companion into a loving, well-prepared home…

📸 [15] Pug Puppy Gallery & Milestone Documentation: Once your pre-adopted Pug puppies have been safely whelped and stabilized—typically within 3 to 7 days after birth—WTL creates a private, secure photo and video gallery on our web site... This gallery is available to Pug Adoptive Owners (PAOs) 24/7/365, allowing you to begin bonding with your future companion from the earliest stages of life…

  • Avoid overstimulation or disruption to the newborn puppies
  • Allow PAOs to visually confirm and select their pre-contracted puppy
  • Provide a gentle, respectful introduction to your puppy’s appearance and environment
These early images are taken with discretion and care, ensuring that the puppies remain calm, safe, and undisturbed during their most vulnerable days.

🎥 Ongoing Gallery Updates (Optional): For families who wish to follow their puppy’s journey more closely, WTL offers optional ongoing gallery updates throughout the 10–12 week weaning period... These updates may include:

WTL believes that transparency, education, and emotional connection are essential to every adoption… By sharing these early moments, we invite you to become part of your Pug’s story from the very beginning—building trust, excitement, and a foundation for lifelong companionship…

========

Communication is conducted via:

  • Email for updates, documentation, and scheduling
  • Telephone for case-specific discussions, health concerns, or urgent matters
This open line of communication ensures:
  • You remain informed about your puppy’s progress
  • We can address any questions or adjustments proactively
  • A strong foundation of trust and collaboration is maintained
  • Negligence in regard to this on behalf of the PAO is considered grounds for Termination of the Pug Adoption Contract Agreement

WTL’s commitment doesn’t end at birth—it intensifies... Every moment from whelping to adoption is guided by compassion, expertise, and a shared goal: to place each Pug in a home that is informed, prepared, and emotionally invested…

========

🗓️ Step 17: Finalizing Adoption Logistics & Payment: As the final stage of your adoption journey approaches, WTL works closely with each Pug Adoptive Owner (PAO) to coordinate and confirm all remaining details... This includes:

  • Finalizing the adoption date and time
  • Confirming travel arrangements and pickup or delivery logistics
  • Reviewing any last-minute preparations for your home and vehicle
  • Ensuring all adoption package options and documentation are complete
Once these elements are mutually agreed upon, we proceed confidently toward the official adoption and transfer of your Pug puppy, according to the plan we’ve carefully crafted together.

💳 Final Payment Options: WTL offers three secure and straightforward methods for submitting your final Pug Puppy Adoption balance:

  1. Google Pay/Zelle Payment

By this point, your puppy has been lovingly raised, carefully prepared, and matched with you for a lifetime of companionship… We look forward to celebrating this final step with you and welcoming your new Pug into your home…

========

🏁[18]: Final Adoption Meeting, Ownership Transfer & Lifelong Support: The final step in your adoption journey is a moment of celebration, connection, and responsibility... WTL and the Pug Adoptive Owner (PAO) meet—typically at the WTL Pug Ranch or another mutually agreed-upon location—to complete the adoption in person…

🐶 In-Person Puppy Examination & Document Finalization Upon meeting:

  • A Pug Adoption Contract Signator representing the PAO, must attend this meeting
  • You will have the opportunity to personally examine your Pug puppy to ensure satisfaction and comfort.
(Note: Your puppy’s health is already guaranteed under the terms of the Adoption Contract you’ve previously received.)
  • All final adoption documents—including contracts, health guarantees, and case-specific care protocols—are:
  • Reviewed together
  • Mutually endorsed
  • Printed and dispersed in hard copy
This ensures full transparency and legal clarity for both parties.

📚 Health Care Orientation & Q&A Session: A WTL-trained representative will provide a 1–2 hour personalized health care orientation, tailored to your puppy’s specific needs... This session includes:

  • A comprehensive overview of your puppy’s health history and care plan

  • An open question-and-answer segment to address any remaining concerns or curiosities

  • 🏠 Proper shelter and protection from environmental hazards
  • 🥣 Consistent nutrition and hydration
  • 🩺 Routine and emergency veterinary care

On average, adoption release occurs around 10 weeks, though this may vary depending on each pup’s developmental pace… Between weeks 6–8, WTL will assess health, weight, and readiness to confirm the exact release date…

Once finalized, the adoption release date is posted on our website and communicated directly to all contracted PAOs (Pug Adoptive Owners), with pickup expected within 10 days of notification… A grace period of 7 additional days is allowed for valid, pre-approved reasons…

🛑 Delayed Pickup Responsibilities & Boarding Fees

If the PAO does not complete adoption pickup within the designated window (without an acceptable, documented cause), the following applies:

  • Ownership and boarding responsibilities transfer to the PAO
  • Any remaining adoption balance must be paid electronically within 24 hours
  • Daily boarding fees of $25 per day begin immediately, covering care, lodging, and resource use

Should an alternative date be needed and both WTL and the PAO agree, that mutually approved date will override the original release deadline. In the absence of mutual agreement, the original release terms will govern…

🏠 Care Provided During Extended Stay

When boarding begins, WTL provides full-spectrum care including:

  • 24/7 supervision and monitoring by trained Pug health care staff
  • Fresh water and age-specific WTL-approved Pug Chow
  • Safe, sanitary, climate-controlled private sleeping/crate space
  • Daily outdoor or indoor exercise sessions (weather permitting)
  • Grooming, socialization, and hygiene routines
  • On-premise basic veterinary attention and wellness checks

In the event of a medical emergency, WTL will act swiftly to transport your Pug to the most suitable veterinary facility:

  • Emergency veterinary costs are the PAO’s responsibility and must be reimbursed to WTL within 24–48 hours
  • Any post adoption ongoing or follow-up vetting fees must be arranged directly between the PAO and the vet clinic involved

All accumulated boarding fees must be settled prior to or upon pickup, via electronic payment or in-person cash.

⏳ Optional Puppy Hold Extensions

WTL may also hold a Pug pup beyond the designated release window foe specific, reasonable delays such as:

  • Home renovations or relocation
  • Scheduled vacations or travel conflicts
  • Coordinated surprise gift arrivals
  • Transportation and logistical challenges
  • Inclement weather or safety concerns
  • Personal or family illness

All extended hold requests are evaluated case-by-case and incur the same $25/day boarding rate and responsibilities listed above.

⚠️ Veterinary Disclaimer

WTL’s team practices non-licensed, privately trained Pug health care, available only for our own dogs or as a courtesy to contracted PAOs with Pugs still in our care…
We maintain strict cleanliness, medical vigilance, and emergency protocols—but due to the nature of animal care, unforeseen events may still occur…

Our farmstead environment is carefully designed to be secure, social, and Pug-safe, yet we ask all adoptive parents to understand that:

WTL shall be held harmless from any resulting liability or claims related to care or events occurring during the extended boarding period…

Registration & Pedigree Information

Walk The Line Pug’s and Hard Rock Farm’s Noble Giants litters are eligible for official registration based on their purebred heritage. Registrations may be processed through AKC Kennel Club. (United States) the United Kennel Club, (Internationally) CKC Kennel Club, (Canada) or the National General Kennel Club (China), (standard restricted use).

Registration papers are included as a standard part of our Puppy Adoption Packages, provided upon initial request and in compliance with the terms outlined in the case-specific WTL or HRF Adoption Contract. In instances where a spay/neuter agreement is required, registration documents will only be released upon full compliance with that agreement.

Once the adoptive family has submitted all required documentation and the puppy has reached the appropriate age (per the adoption agreement), registration papers are sent via regular U.S. Mail. Additionally, full pedigrees are available upon request and assessed case-by-case for an additional fee.

Commitment to Purebred Excellence

Our canines are strictly purebred, coming from bloodlines that are exceptionally healthy, free of disease, and devoid of congenital defects. Despite common misconceptions, hybrids and mixed breeds often introduce unpredictable and undesirable genetic complications. Only through a well-orchestrated and conscientious purebred breeding program can we ensure the healthiest, most immune-efficient, and genetically sound offspring.

Due to the widespread misuse and irresponsible breeding practices common in the industry, we rarely offer registration papers with breeding rights. However, unrestricted registration may be granted under special circumstances—reserved only for individuals who demonstrate, through our detailed Canine Adoption Application process, either a sound reason or a proven record of responsible breeding experience.

~ Testimonial by Lynda & Kevin Rouser, Massachusetts ~
“We started working with Walk The Line a year ago on the pre-adoption of two puppies. The level of attention and devotion they showed was unparalleled, as if we were the only adoptive family with whom they were working. Their knowledge about the breed and best health care practices are unsurpassed. The gallery was a constant source of delight and amazement as we watched our girls grow from newborns to the 10-wk old wonders we picked up in August, 2012. We could not be more pleased with our decision to pursue an adoption through Walk The Line; our girls are remarkably healthy, spunky, sweet-natured, and simply gorgeous. It was well worth the eight-hour drive to pick them up, and they were gracious enough to spend as much time as we needed to review the comprehensive binder and materials that are included as part of their adoption package. We do not hesitate in recommending and/or referring others to Walk The Line. Thanks for bringing so much joy into our lives! ”

The best of the best! Lynda
