Walk The Line offers for adoption only exemplary Healthy, above average Quality, Pure Breed Pugs of our own private Pug stock which are currently derived from a (8) generation Pedigree, “owned by our private families”, guaranteed known first hand to be of Pure Breed Pug Blood and DNA Heritage line of Pure Breed Pug stock… All of which are bred forth to date by a very selective combination of a carefully matched genetic mix of third and fourth generation Line Breeding and Out Crossed Breeding shared between our Chinese Pure Breed Pug Heritage Bloodlines combined with our American AKC Pure Breed Pug Heritage Bloodlines… This is done in order to Breed forward with any Breed positive mental and/or physical, recognized attributes and characteristics that are recognized among the DNA lines, as well as to eliminate any potentially Breed negative mental and/or physical, possible or recognized attributes and characteristics that are recognized among the DNA lines… After extensive Pure Breed Pug Genetic research, studies, and consideration many years ago, WTL had chose NOT to practice any direct 1st or 2nd Generation In Line Breeding, although some may argue that it does in very specific scenarios have certain benefits as to promoting certain positive traits… However, Close Generation In Line Breeding is just as likely to do the opposite and instead promote undesirable negative DNA traits as well… Therefore we do not agree with those methods, and we do not practice any 1st or 2nd Generation Line or In Breeding Methods… We strongly believe that the “3rd and 4th Generation Line Breeding Method”, when very carefully mixed with the “Out Crossed Breeding Method”, between our Chinese Heritage and the American Heritage Bloodlines, produces the best healthy quality Pugs with ever strengthening Immune System Efficiency, throwing forward with each new Pug generation…. This “Breeding Method”, has been very successfully practiced with the Pug Breed by Chinese Breeders for thousands of years… It was first introduced to Walk The Line by a close Chinese (40+) year friend of DragonMaster’s several years ago, whom has a Dongwu Dami Nonchang, (animal and rice farm) along the Minjiang River in the Sichuan Province, China… Furthermore we have also very in depth researched, learned, read, & have trained, consulted, and practiced by this “Combined Breeding Method” for over (16) years, and are thoroughly convinced that compared to other studied and witnessed methods and results, that our method has the highest possible percentages of the Pug offspring inheriting and being able to throw these strongest possible positive and Genuine Pure Breed Quality Pug, exemplary healthy and excellent quality characteristics, which inheritantly flows throughout our bloodlines, ever strengthening the health and durability of our Pugs offspring with each generation…

{WHAT ARE “PUGS OF DISTINCTION”}      

   All of Walk The Line’s Pugs that are offered for pet/companion adoption are of an above average, excellent Pure Breed quality and exemplary durable health condition… “Pugs Of Distinction” however, are Pugs bred by WTL that are the “cream of the crop”… Normally between the ages of about (8-16) weeks after birth, these pups are very selectively chosen due to apparently evident “Distinctions” that make them stand out as an even above higher quality and/or rarity, than the majority of our already well above average Quality Pugs of Pet/Companion quality… This is due primarily to their exceptional Pug Breed Standards Characteristics, and/or unique color rarities, excellent Pug Breed Standard Statures, “Distinct” personalities and excellent mannerisms, apparent higher intelligence levels and awareness, evident obedience and training abilities, general physique, dimensions, weight, etc., etc., etc… Due to an evident exemplary physical “Distinction”, or an apparent exemplary mental “Distinction”, we carefully hand select these pups for the specific purpose of having what is to be a more responsible Pug life than the average Pug pet/companion… That is to potentially be one of the following: Higher Level Trained Pet/Household Companions; Walk The Line Pug Ranch future Sires or Dams; Show Dogs; Trained Therapy Dogs for handicapped & elderly people; and yes, Pugs even have their very special use as Rescue and even Guard Dogs! At a young adolescent age of normally about (6-9) months, the final determinations are made regarding these pups being in fact in possession of the above required characteristics or not… If we determine that they do, then their training now actually begins towards being one of the above…  The pups at this age that “drop out” of the “Pugs Of Distinction” program, are then alternatively offered for adoption as the standard excellent quality and healthy Pet/Household Companion Pug as we normally provide…These pups are by no means of any inferior Pure Breed Pug excellent quality or any less than our normal exemplary health conditioned Pug, it is just for usually some minor physical or mental  reason, we feel that it would be potentially either too much of a physical or a mental strain on these pups if they were to endure the responsibilities of a “Pug Of Distinction”… Somewhere usually between the ages of (12-18) months the pups that graduate the “Pugs Of Distinction” training program, are then offered to the public as to be appropriately used as/in one or two of the trained “Pugs Of Distinction” special purposes as described above…  

   Walk The Line’s “Adam & Eve” original Chinese Heritage Pug DNA Blood Lines, have been originated from a Pure Breed apricot fawn male “King Rock Agamemnon”, and a Pure Breed silver fawn female “Queen Ali Girl Athena“… They were both acquired by our Private family in “2001” in “Old China” from a long time dear friend of Dragomaster’s, ( Sheng Li) and then brought over to the United States… Their Bloodlines and DNA were researched by our family with the Pug’s previous Chinese owner, (Sheng Li) to be guaranteed Pure Breed Chinese Pug Heritage for at least (6) generations among his own private Chinese family… A few years later on, WTL acquired from verified reputable Pure Breed Pug Breeders in Upstate, NY and Ohio, our private family’s original black/white male “Lord Black Jack Magic”, two all black male brothers “Lord Bear” & “Lord Spade”, an all black female “Madame Theona Alexandria”, and an all white female “Madame Ivy Ambrosia”… Their American Pure Breed Pug Heritages were traced back by us and the previous owners, again, for at least (6) generations… Hence combined with our several years ownership of the Bloodlines ever since the acquisitions, we are able to guarantee at least an (14) generation Pedigree of either an Chinese Pure Breed Pug Heritage, an American Pure Breed Pug Heritage, or a combined Chinese and American Pure Breed Pug Heritage…

   An undivided stream of each pure heritage bloodline in addition to a very selectively mixed combination of the streams, inheritantly flows throughout our Pure Breed Pug Bloodlines to date!.. This is accomplished by a very selective combination of “3rd & 4th Generation In Line Breeding”  carefully mixed  with an inter-crossed Chinese Heritage and American Heritage type of  “Out Crossed Breeding”…

“BREEDING METHOD”  

     For the true Purebreed Pug Enthusiasts whom want to truly understand & SEE the real difference between a fortunate Pug that has had the benefit of an exemplary Quality PureBreed Pug Breeding Method, and a Pug that has had the misfortune of being bred by one of all of the random or lesser quality Breeding Methods such as first generation “In Breeding” or basically a “Let’s Throw Em Together As Long As They’re Some What Size Compatible Breeding Methods”, please take a few minutes to read on…

     DNA is as you probably are aware of, a very complex science… But let’s simplify it… There are both advantages & disadvantages to having Genetic Diversities, as there are also both advantages & disadvantages to having Genetic Similarities… However, Genetic Diversity is favored in the Natural World because mathematically this gives all species the least chance of contracting a disease or disability, and a favorable chance of contracting only positive or healthy traits…

 THE DISADVANTAGE OF HAVING GENETIC SIMILARITIES:     Almost all species carry (2) Copies of their genetic code in the form of DNA, Strain “A” & Strain “B”… The way that the coding system is designed, a species can have a disease or disability built in on either Strain “A”, Strain “B”, or on both Strains “A & B” Copies of their DNA… A species will not normally outwardly show any signs of most diseases or disabilities unless, both Strain Copies “A & B” of their Genetic code carry the exact same disease or disability… In other words, a species can be a carrier of a disease or disability on one Strain of their DNA and not show it or throw it, but if both Strains of their DNA carry the same exact disease or disability then they will assuredly show it and throw it… When two of the same species mate, their offspring obtains one Copy or Strain of its Genetic code from its mother and one Copy or Strain from its father… In Nature, the less related that the mother and father are, the less likely it is that they would both carry exact matching copies of the same Strain of a particular disease or disability… Therefore the less likely an offspring will inherit the disease or disability, and the less likely the offspring will even be a carrier of the disease or disability… Hence, the more closely that the mother and father are, the more likely it is that their offspring will either carry or obtain the same Strain of a particular disease or disability… 

 THE ADVANTAGE OF HAVING GENETIC SIMILARITIES:     As explained directly above, all species can carry a particular disease or disability in either or both of their Genetic Strains “A & B”… However, the same Genetic statistics apply to positive desired or healthy traits… In other words, a species can also have a desired or healthy trait built in on either Strain “A”, or Strain “B”, or on both Strains “A & B” Copies of their DNA… This being said, since any beings mother and their father each have a Strain “A” & an Strain “B” in their Genetic make up, when they mate, there are a total of four Strains of combined DNA that can be thrown to their offspring… If one of the four strains has a particular desired healthy trait, then the offspring have a 25% chance of receiving it… If two of the four strains have the same particular desired healthy trait, then the offspring have a 50% chance of receiving it… If three of the four strains have the same particular desired healthy trait, then the offspring have a 75% chance of receiving it… If all four of the four strains have the same particular desired healthy trait, then the offspring will assuredly receive it… 

EXAMPLE 1:

First Generation”In Breeding Method”

All Dams & all Sires each have two distinct genetic codes.

      Lets begin with the example that our Dam in this scenario has the genetic codes which we’ll call A&X, where her A is a strand of DNA that does not code for any specific disease or disability and her X is a strand of DNA that does code for a specific disease. The Dams offspring will inherit only one of her strands of DNA, either the A strand or the X strand, but not both. In order for the offspring to be a carrier of the specific disease, they have to carry strand X, which is the Dams infected strand. In order for the offspring to actually obtain the specific disease or disability, they have to carry two copies of the infected strand X, one infected strand would have to be inherited from the mother & the other exact same infected strand would have to be inherited from the father.

A)…..Let’s say the Dam mates with an unrelated Sire which does not carry the exact same infected strand X with the disease or disability, so we’ll call his uninfected strands of DNA strand R and strand S. Their offspring would inherit one of the following combinations: AR; AS; XR; XS. That is, there is a 50% chance that their offspring will be a carrier of the disease or disability, but NONE of their offspring will actually be able to actually genetically inherit the disease or disability.

B)…..Now let’s say that the Dam mates with a closely related Sire which is also a carrier of the same exact infected strand X with the disease or disability, so we’ll call his strands of DNA strand B and strand X, (where, again, X carries the same exact disease or disability as the Dams strand X carries). Their offspring would inherit one of the following combinations: AB; AX; XB; XX. That is, there is a 75% chance their offspring will be a carrier of the disease or disability, and a 25% chance that their offspring will actually genetically inherit and be afflicted with the disease or disability.

C)…..Now let’s say that the Dam mates with a closely related Sire who actually is afflicted with the same exact strand X that has the disease or disability, therefore he carries two copies of the infected strand X.Their offspring would inherit one of the following combinations: AX; XX; XX; XX. Now ALL 100%of their offspring will be carriers of the disease or disability, and there is a 75% chance that the offspring will actually inherit the disease or disability.   

…..So hence, what is happening here is that your originally preferred dominant and healthier traits, are now being taken over by what originally was your unpreferred recessive and less healthier traits. This is what happens with 1st generation “In Breeding” and the more generations that the “In Breeding” continues, the more and more it perpetuates the disease or disability!

EXAMPLE 2:  Ancient Chinese Practiced, Third, Fourth, and Fifth Generation “Line Breeding Method”, carefully combined at the appropriate times with a very selective mix of an “Out Crossed Breeding Method”
