Walk The line Pug Ranch – {Pug Adoptions}
__________________________________________________________________
Wtl Standardly during the warmer “Open Ranch Visitations Months”, provides for all of our Pug adoptions to be held in person with the PAO/S by appointment, either at the WTL Ranch or at a perhaps closer WTL private family members other residence, case specific… The PAO/S must abide by the WTL Visitations Policy while on the premise, as is explained below… During the inclement weather colder “Closed Ranch No Visitations Months”, or In certain instance should it benefit WTL scheduling wise and/or the PAO travel time wise or due to the PAO being handi-capped, adoptions can also be scheduled at the PAO’s or a mutually beneficial on the road Pug safe adoption meeting location may be established instead, case specific… This is solely up to the discretion and ability of WTL to be able to accommodate any travel arrangements, and no adoptions shall be contingent on our ability to do so…
Walk The Line Pug ranch – {Visitations]
_____________________________________________________________
WTL Does not really promote any other site visitations to our Farmstead other than for pre-scheduled adoptions, due primarily to time constraints… We do restrictively allow them by appointment for serious Pug Inquirers and for our already previous Pug Adoptive Parents reunions… Standard Visitations Season normally begins from about April first and continues through November while weather allows… Other special dates MAY be able to be arranged upon request… Being that our Farmstead is in the North Country NYS in which Winter temps often reach 30 degrees below zero and worse, and contrarily Summer temps often reach near 100 degrees, our often unsafe Weather conditions is a huge factor in allowing us to schedule any Pug safe visitations… Even adult Pugs do not fair very well for very long in temps under 40 degrees or above 70 degrees… In the harsher Winter months we normally have to discontinue all visitations completely that are (non emergency), due to severely cold temperatures, our public roads often being encumbered, and the egress to our Farmstead’s grounds becoming very limited due to mud/snow/ice build up, unoperational access gates, etc… Furthermore, site visits are very time consuming & costly to both us & you since most of our adoptive parents live a considerable distance… This all being said, one trip for the adoption pick up is normally mutually satisfactory & sufficient… Visits are also very disruptive to our Farmstead’s daily operations in addition to being potentially dangerous to our Animals physical health via potential exposure to outside Virus (EX: Parvovirus), not to mention also emotionally disruptive to their daily routine safe & secure atmosphere… Our much more “Modern Adoption Method” which includes a mutually fair & legal Pug adoption contract and an optional Pug puppy picture gallery, is much more commonly used today by most responsible reputable Animal Breeders…
This is outlined in detail in our web site browser tabs “Puppy Pre-Adopt” & “Adoption Itinerary”… Most of our Pug Adoptions for the past several years have been orchestrated by this method, all resulting in very happy Pug families & a safe/easy & fast acclimation process… If you click on our browser tab above labeled “Testimonials”, you can read several previous Adoptive Parents comments as examples… However, this all being said, for those still interested in a potential site visit, please continue to read forward for our restricted Farmstead’s Visitation Policy below… HAPPY PUGSPRING – “2016”
Our Farmstead where all of our Pugs are whelped, raised, sheltered, & cared for is a WTL private family residence, not a retail Pet Store or Puppy mill… Hence the safety, health care, privacy, & security of both our Human & Animal families is the utmost of our major concern, not what some folks would refer to as “making a sale”..! This being said, if you would like to visit “Our Home”, then we want to get to know you a little bit first, wouldn’t you require the same safety/courtesy, or do you let just any stranger into your home!!!
Here on our 100 acre Farmstead we raise part of our Human family, Pugs, Horses, & various other misc. productive working small farm animals… All of our Farmstead’s Animals are bred & raised to be strictly Household Companions, Therapy Animals, Pets &/or Productive Workers… None of our Pugs or Horses of course, & none of our small farm animals are raised for consumption… We are Animal Caretakers, not consumers… The Pugs are raised inside our Pug safely/properly modified Farmstead, (not a kennel) & all of our other animals are raised & sheltered in their own appropriately constructed buildings with attached outside play/exercise areas &/or pastures as is warranted… However, many of the Animal areas & Human areas are either adjoining or combined, so consequently lives can be endangered & therefore very strict safety regulations must be governed… In addition, our work & responsibilities burdens us daily with a very full schedule and little free time… Inclement weather is also a large contributing factor, too hot/cold, too rainy/snowy, etc… This all being said, all visitations are limited, regulated by advance appointment, & there are strict rules to be adhered to that have been established with everyone’s safety (Human & Animal) being our primary concern...
Most people don’t realize out of ignorance or selfishness, that allowing any unknown public visitation to a private family Farmstead causes the owners great concern, especially while also being a responsible type of Animal Breeder & Caretaker such as we are… There are many things that have to be considered… Yes disease prevention & the welfare of any baby animals, & the protection of the mothers maternal instincts & anxieties is the utmost high on the list… But there is also the safety of our Human family, the safety of your Human family, the safety of our Pugs, Horses, or any other farm animals from getting loose or upsetting them potentially causing their reckless & dangerous behavior… Have you ever been confronted by an angered 1200 pound Horse Stallion, or a 2000 pound Bull, & would you or more importantly your children know how to handle the situation..! We also have to protect the privacy, safety, & security of our family home & our grounds… We have to protect our belongings, our property, & our equipment from being damaged or stolen, etc… There are also expensive liability insurance consequences that are involved, & the Insurance Companies strict safety guidelines that we have to adhere to… We cannot for just one example; Watch other peoples children or animals & keep them from interfering or getting themselves into trouble or a dangerous situation… A 2nd example; We cannot control where visitors have recently been, what other Virus infected or contagious Canines that they have recently been in contact with, and consequently what potentially dangerous and/or deadly Canine Virus that they may be bringing into our grounds on their shoes or clothing unaware, such as the ferocious puppy killer “Parvovirus”… A third example: We cannot trust the unknown general public’s integrity or the honesty of their intentions & motives for visiting us as being strictly for what they are supposed to be… Etc., etc., etc… It is for these reasons & many more that visitations are very limited to very serious inquirers, and already contracted adoptive parents only & visitations are also governed by strict safety rules for everyone’s benefit, that must be adhered to…
We have nothing to hide as some ignorant people often incorrectly imply upon “Protective Responsible Breeders”… Our impeccable reputation of having provided many extremely healthy & congenital defect free Pugs over many years of Pure Breed Pug Breeding is attested to by our many very satisfied Pug Adoptive Parents… Stated once again, this our Farmstead is our family home, not a retail Pet Shop… The WTL family has been Breeding Pugs since “2001”… We take peoples deposits & payments through Pay Pal which does not allow any suspicious or fraudulent activity whatsoever & it is also governed & enforced by State & Federal law… We have a highly visible & very reputable web site to go along with our long lasting reputable reputation… We are proudly recognized by The American Kennel Club as a responsible Pug Breeder in good standing with the AKC… We have a strong & reputable “internet presence” that wouldn’t remain if we weren’t earnest, currently we are recognized on the Google search engine as the #1 Pug Breeder in New York State!!! We have orchestrated many very successful Pug Adoptions over the years & have many legitimate “Testimonials” that Adoptive parents have posted on our web site to adorn our workmanship… We have an excellent, very limited, very Pug Health Care orientated Breeding program that involves a very unique Pure Breed Pug, Breed enhancing technique developed by our family friends Chinese Ancestors… This technique allows us the benefit of producing extremely healthy Pugs, by continually enhancing our Pug bloodlines & strengthening our Pug DNA with each generation going forward… The technique allows us to promote the strong desired traits that are within the Pug Breed DNA, while also being able to decrease or eliminate the more frail characteristics that are inherit within the Pug Breed…
Our web site browser tab “Pugs Of Distinction” which thoroughly explains our Breeding program, is mostly complete and very informative while still being reconstructed… The tab we hope to have completed very soon… We are very passionately dedicated to our human Family, Pugs, Horses, & other Farm Animals… Our work is a (24/7/365) devotion to the Animal World, that only a few could appreciate or endure! Simply said, “If we weren’t any or all of the above, then we wouldn’t still be here”
~VISITATION RULES JUST BELOW THE PIC~
“AMBROSIA”
Please be aware that our visitations are only to accommodate very serious Pug enthusiasts & Adoptive parents only… We are not a petting zoo & we simply do not have time for people that are “just looking”… However, rest assured that once you have looked here, you will be thoroughly satisfied… We are not a million dollar farm, simply honest & humble…
OUR VISITATION RULES & PREREQUISITES:
1) On our website: www.walkthelinepugranch.org There is a browser tab labeled “Adoption Apply”… This strictly held confidential information form must be filled out, submitted via email, processed & approved for a potential Pug Adoption…
2) A deposit of $200 must be made via mailed certified check or Pay Pal directly through our web site tab labeled “Pug Pay”… The deposit is made with the clear understanding that if you adopt a Pug or already have done so, then the deposit goes towards your adoption fee… Otherwise the deposit IS NOT refundable… A considerable amount of time & preparation must be made by us in order to accommodate a grounds visitation… All of our Farm Animals, Pugs, & Horses have to be rounded up & secured their activities disrupted, our meeting building must be case specific readied & in the Winter time the wood stove must be started & readied, at least one of our family members time has to be dedicated to this preparation & as your host while visiting, etc… This is all costly to us & also extremely disruptive to our Farmstead’s daily operations & also to our family’s private personal lives…
3) A Pug Adoption Agreement must be entered into… After the site visit, the remaining fruition of the adoption agreement can be cancelled at this point, should there ever be any reason for the applicant wanting to do so… This has never happened…
4) A liability insurance waiver would be emailed to you in advance… It must be read & agreed to by you via sending us back a signed confirmation email and the original waiver must be signed upon your arrival to our Farmstead…
5) A mutually convenient site visitation can now be scheduled… We can assist those that are traveling a long distance, with making Hotel accommodations, if required & also advise on our area’s World renown infamous Saint Lawrence River’s 1000 Island’s tourism attractions… (WTL is in the Saint Lawrence River Farming Zone)
6) No visitors Animals whatsoever are allowed on the WTL grounds… The only children under the age of (16) that are allowed on the grounds are children that are involved in our “Pug or Horse Therapy Training, Pet Ownership, or Riding Programs”, and they must be under insurance waiver endorsed by the parents… We love both Children & Animals, but please keep yours home & safe where they belong. Both are disruptive & neither has the expertise or the ability to assist you in qualifying either us or our Pugs… Children will be ecstatic with any Pug that you bring home & our Pugs will acclimate very easily to most children & any compatible house pets that you already have, unless yours are already territorial or aggressive… We cannot run the risks of your children being injured & we cannot run the risks of unknown Animals potentially bringing in any type of virus such as Parvovirus that may be harmful to our very protective Animal Health Care grounds & atmosphere, most specifically our Pug Nursery…
7) Our Farmstead has a McDonalds within a short distance from either direction… Please plan on using their facilities & washing hands prior to your visit… We do not allow people into our home & we have no public rest room in our office building or on the grounds..
8) Please schedule your visit with us as the only Canine Breeder or Kennel that you visit on the day of your appointment… This is in order to minimize the potential contamination to our grounds from any other Canines that you may become in contact with unaware that are infected or contagious…
9) Our meeting will be held initially inside our Farmstead’s office/meeting building, which is one of our small adjacent buildings on the grounds, not our private family home… Afterwards, a small tour of the immediate compound grounds is also acceptable upon request… No one is allowed for various safety reasons into any of our Horse or Farm Animal barns, housings, or pastures, nor in our private home… A visible look at the Pug outdoor play/exercise area is acceptable from a relatively close safe distance… No visitors are allowed within the confines of the Pug play/exercise area, however visual interactions can be had through the open AKC kennel mesh… No Pugs on the WTL grounds can be handled by any visitors unless it is your actual Pug Adoption and your adopted Pug that is being handled and picked up for take home… The Pug outdoor play/exercise area is appx: (5 acres) and is constructed of 8 foot high proper constructed AKC approved Canine heavy duty steel mesh with masonary footer, in order to keep the Pugs safely inside and not allow any predators or unauthorized persons inside… No visitors are allowed inside the Pug indoors bedding area which resides within our private family home in a large Pug/Human family type room atmosphere, especially constructed for providing our Pugs with the proper safe, clean, sociable, & healthy atmosphere… Absolutely no visitors are allowed inside our Pug Nursery and none of our Pug pups under the age of (16 weeks) will be put at health risk outdoors for any Visitation viewing and/or interactions… Strangers cause great disruption & anxiety to the Pugs, especially the mothers, & the threat of potential Canine Virus transmission especially to the pups through direct contaminated Human contact is too great of a risk…
10) We cannot control where people have recently been, what other potentially virus carrying Canines that they have recently been in contact with or what potential Canine Virus that they may be bringing in on their person, shoes, or clothing unaware, such as the ferocious puppy killer “Parvovirus”… Should such a virus ever be brought into our Nursery, via outside Human or Animal contact, it could easily potentially infect and kill not only your selected puppy, but any or all of our other puppies that haven’t completed their properly required inoculations regimen… The puppies get their initial Disease Antibodies from the Dams breast milk during the first (48 hours) of birth… However this is not adequate for a newborn pup to ward off the deadly destruction that such an aggressive virus as Parvovirus can cause to a newborn puppy… Due to this reason, our Dams while nursing and our puppies that have not completed their “puppy shot regimen” (typically ages from birth to 16 weeks), cannot be shown to or handled by the general public… During the early stages of life & throughout the weaning process, we adamantly do not allow any non care-taking Humans and absolutely any/all other Animals to have any contact with our nursing Dams or puppies… No one other than our Pug caretaker family members whom are properly trained in Canine disease prevention and take the appropriate safety precautions, are ever allowed in the Nursery… Our Nursery which provides a “Kids Gloves” environment, must also be kept a safe haven for our Dams & puppies from the stress and disruption that is inadvertently caused by strangers… Our Nursery is under our 24/7/365 care & surveillance and is actually treated very much like a Hospital ICU. The Dam is also kept apart from any other Pugs & Animals contact during later pregnancy through final weaning of the litter… The Dam even has her own private segregated indoor & very sheltered outside potty/exercise area… As a safe alternative to handling our newborn puppies, we do offer our Adoptive Parents as a pre-adoption contract option, the puppy photo gallery which includes weekly updates/photos of your chosen puppy and also a couple of videos along the way…
11) No cameras are allowed on our grounds… If you adopt a Pug from us and choose our optional photo gallery then you will have plenty of photos beginning at birth through to adoption, and a lifetime afterwards for yourself to take pics with your Pug… WTL is a private family Farmstead residence… We do not want to see pics of our Human family, our private home, our grounds, our Animals, etc. being improperly exploited, advertised, etc. on the internet or in any other unauthorized way… We can take all of the pics that you may require of our Pug/s with our own added discretion, & then email them to you in a timely manner…
12) We do not have any human handicapped assistance or access to the office/meeting building or anywhere else on the farm grounds… Please bear this in mind…
13) We do not allow any smoking, chewing gum or tobacco, alcohol, drugs, food, or drinks of any sort anywhere on the grounds… Bottled water that is opened here is acceptable and any required prescription medications are acceptable as long as they are consumed and remain in your car, which will remain in between our main outside entry & inner safety gate…
(END DOC)

Our visitation policy has been established in order to best ensure the welfare, safety, & protection of your family, our family, our animals, & our property…
