With each Pug Puppy Adoption Applicant, we start out with WTL’S standard recommended Pug “PPID Protocol”… This Protocol caters specific to the PureBreed Pug Breed and specific to the Geography of the North East United States… Whom else other than WTL to date, is better qualified to prepare your/our Pug Pups initial Care Protocol… WTL is the only one  that is familiar and learned with your potential new Pug Pups Specifics: Heritage, Genetics, Breeding, Whelping, Historical General Care Needs, Vetting History, Etc??? The simple answer is No One, including with all due respect, any potentially higher learned Veterinary Professional whom may be well learned in the Pug Breed & Veterinary Medicine, however to date knows absolutely nothing about the Heritage or specific clinical history of your particular case specific potential new

Since many of these controversial final decisions to be made in the start up Pug Care Protocol must be finally determined case specific in regards to the particular PAO’S Home, Geographical Location, Life Style, etc… In addition, consideration is given for the established practiced “PPID” protocols of the PAO’S own private hired (DVM’S), and of course also to whatever particular degree of knowledge &/or opinion that the PAO has in these matters… That said, WTL will discuss & present our recommended “PPID” Pug Care Protocol with each & every potential PAO… Additionally highly recommended, (upon request) WTL will gladly orchestrate through the potential new PAO, a (2 or 3 way) Communication regarding the “PPID” Pug Care Protocol with the PAO’S s own private (DVM), at some point while processing your adoption application, in order to mutually discuss & establish with the PAO and your own private (DVM) the best appropriate case specific recommended protocol for your potential Pug, prior to Pug Adoption & transfer of ownership… With all due respect, this will not be discussed by WTL with your (DVM’S) secretary, the office mgr., a Vet technician, etc., but only with your primary (DVM)!!! It is a part of the PAO’S responsibility, and your own private hired primary (DVM’S) to provide Pug for Life, this small portion of your time/s initially, which will establish the basic post adoption start up (and barring any troubles/required changes going forward post adoption), with an ongoing proper Health Care platform which will best provide Pug with a long lasting & healthy quality life!!! Furthermore, if you may have been a previous, or are a current Pet/Pug owner, and have never been provided and explained a similar type care platform for your Animal/s by your (DVM), then you should have been, and it should also be provided you Species, Breed, Geographical Location,  & Household specific, not generic one size fits all!!! This said, if this herein posted WTL policy of establishing a pre-adoption (2 or 3 way) agreed to start up “PPID” Pug Care Protocol, is not acceptable to you as a potential new PAO and/or your (DVM’S), then please respectfully disengage WTL immediately and take your Pug search elsewhere because your Pug adoption with WTL will never come to fruition…

The initial Pug recommended Health Care platform program herein has been developed and authored by by WTL… Hopefully this strongly encourages the new PAO and the post Pug adoption Vet Care Provider  into working together as a team adjoining with WTL, for the best benefit of the Pug… WTL feels confident that our program will be a dramatic improvement in the previously uncoordinated Professional Breeding & Vetting Practices for all that are involved in to stand up, take proper responsibility for what Animals that Breeders are Breeding, take proper responsibility for what Animals that Pet Care Providers (DVM’S) are being paid to cared for, and finally for Pet Owners to be better educated into providing the proper care and responsibility that goes along with the decision to adopt or purchase an Animal… Any of the above type individuals or organizations that would irresponsibly not want to participate or set forth the effort in such a Pet Care type program of sorts, should not be in the Professional Pet Industry or a Pet Owner, period…

Now presumably all moving forward, this adjoined “Pug Care Team” shall then afterwards have established an initial adjoined road map and set forth accordingly to provide the Pug with the best chance of having a long, healthy, happy life and being able to take advantage of and not to throw away the opportunity for a Healthy long life that Pug has been provided due to the premium quality of which Pug has been Bred which includes countless hours spent by WTL in the responsible Breeding, Whelping, Rearing, Socializing, & all around properly preparing Pug for having a healthy long life…

WTL as part of any Pug Puppy adoption will subsequently provide this (2 or 3 way) recommended “Adjoined Pug Care Protocol” along with all of the additional Comprehensive Pug Health & General Care Information that we standardly provide, in a printed hard copy & via email fashion to the new PAO within our Comprehensive Pug Adoption Health Care Guide… Once having mutually established Pugs Recommended case specific start up “PPID Protocol”, From post adoption going forward, the protocol would be then continued & adjusted if deemed necessary by your DVM’s through direct discussion & approval by you… Post Pug Adoption, WTL would no longer be a decision maker in the Pugs initial mutually agreed to Pug Health Care Protocols, but strongly recommends that we be consulted as a “free of charge” well educated Pug Health Care Advisor, prior to you making any “non emergency” changes to the pre-established recommended Vetting Protocols… This again, would be left up to the new PAO’s discretion guided by your own private hired (DVM’S)… However, WTL’S “Free Assistance, Advice, &/or Opinion” going forward always remains available & is strongly encouraged to be called upon… 

DISCLAIMER: Should the new PAO &/or your (DVM’S) make any post adoption changes to the Initial Pre-Adoption WTL recommended Pug Care Protocol without the consult/consent of WTL, (particularly non-emergency related changes or changes made for certain specific clinical benefits) then the PAO would do so at your own discretion and the WTL originally provided Pug Health Guarantee or Congenital Defect Health Guarantee shall potentially become either partially or wholly null & void, depending on reasons given per case specific circumstance and Pug’s resulting health declination or condition…

then solely at our discretion the Adoption Application shall be denied in it’s entirety

We “Titer Test” our Dams normally appx (6 weeks) post whelping… Based on our average history of High Maternal Antibodies still being present at that time, we do not ever begin our puppy inoculation regimen prior to (8 weeks) of age…

In particular Leptospirosis Bacteria Vaccines, Coronavirus Vaccines, Bordetella Vaccines, Lyme Disease Vaccines, Giardia Vaccines, Canine Adenovirus-1 (CAV-1 MLV and Killed) Vaccines, Canine Parvovirus (CPV-2 Killed) Vaccines, Canine Adenovirus-2 (CAV-2 Killed or MLV-Topical) Vaccines, Any/All other Exotic Vaccines, are generally recommended against (some more than others), other than for case specific potentially prevalent highly infected Endemic Regional Or Case Specific Geographical Home Location Environments… These are not generally recognized by the (AAHA) as Canine Core Bacteria or Virus Vaccination Protocol and are generally left up to use only if recommended by your own privately chosen (DVM’S) for case specific “Substantiated Reasonable cause”… Leptospirosis Vaccine presents the highest risk of anaphylactic shock reactions in small breed dogs and is also recently recognized as being a certain higher percentage risk for the potential of triggering IMHA and other Immune system destruction disorders, Malignant Cancers, Blindness, Renal Failure, Mast Cell Tumors, Etc.. The 1st Date Due required by NYS Law is by 4 Months of Age… We very strongly recommend not to inoculate for the Rabies prevention on the same date as the DAPPv inoculations, as this provides a critically important & distinguishable additional safety guard against Anaphylactic Shock, Allergic, or other adverse Immune System Reaction… The 2nd rabies Inoculation is due by NYS Law 1 Year Past The 1st Inoculation, or at 16 Months of Age… The 3rd Rabies Inoculation is due by NYS Law 3 years Past The 2nd Inoculation, or at 52 Months of Age… All Subsequent Rabies Inoculations are Due Every 3 Years Past The 3rd Inoculation, for life unless your Pug suffers a severe allergic reaction, (and survives), then your (DVM’S) can assist you in applying for a request with your State to potentially nullify the future requirement of any Rabies Inoculations… Your State may grant it, they may not, each case is specific…

(3rd) Rabies Inoculation At (3 Years Since The Last Or At Appx 52 Months Of Age) And Then At Every (3 Year Intervals For Life)

SECONDARY PROTOCOL – CANINE COMMON KNOWN NON CORE VIRUSES/BACTERIA VACCINES: Non Core Virus Vaccinations Are Also Governed By Veterinary Medicine, Not By Law…  Non Core Vaccinations Are Not Recommended As A Standard Canine Protocol By The “AAHA”, Only To Be Administered At Your Own Privately Chosen (DVM’S) Discretion And Yours, And Only To Be Administered With Caution For Certain High Risk Potential Canine Breeds, Due To Their Typical Activity. Spay/Neuter: It is Imperative for Pugs best short & long term health benefits, to have your Pug spayed/neutered, In the case of a puppy, WTL’S recommended spay/neuter time frame is to be accomplished usually between the ages of (9-18 months old):

Pug to be spayed/neutered by age date range: __(9 to 18 months is acceptable) *** (12 to 15 months is Preferred) & only after 1st Estrus/females), Upon the PAO’s private DVM’s discretion, unless the DVM presents a legitimate Clinical Health concern for Pug’s Health benefit, to not spay/neuter, or requests for legitimate Clinical reason, a later date change alteration in writing. WTL will then either approve of the preclusion or date change alteration back in writing within (72 hours), or possibly opt further discussion with the DVM prior to automatic approval_A date range previous to 9 months old is not acceptable other than for a legitimate DVM diagnosed Clinical reason, or in order to prevent a legitimate suspected forthcoming health threat based on the DVM’s Clinical observation. In the event of the DVM’s claim to a Clinical Emergency, any treatment as advised by the DVM is to be discussed solely with PAO, and not WTL in order to save time. The DVM & PAO are to determine the best treatment plan & administer such treatment immediately upon discretion of the DVM. WTL shall be notified in writing at the (PAO’s Responsibility), On Contract Page #17,  in writing directly from the DVM, with endorsement & any attachments, a brief report including the cause of the event, along with end results, within (14 days) post occurrence…/

In the case of a still intact Pug that when adopted is already over the minimum age of 9-12 months there will be 2 spay/neuter options, case specific: The first being that WTL have the spay/neuter performed prior to the adoption by one of our licensed NYS Veterinarians, as further explained in our contract/s above at our standard fee of $275.00… The second being that the PAO have your chosen Veterinarian perform the spay/neuter within (30) days post adoption presuming that the PAO’S DVM discovers a clinical reason as to wait longer or not to perform an alteration at all… All other particulars are the same as the paragraph directly above regarding a puppy’s spay/neuter requirements…
