Private NYS Hobby Pure Breed Pug, Great Pyrenees & Saint Bernard Breeder
American Homestead of the Original Ancient Chinese Purebred Pug Heritage Preservationists & The
Farmstead of Our European Gentle Giants

Walk The Line Pug Ranch (WTL) & Hard Rock Farm (HRF) are not a commercial kennel but a private family’s homestead and farmstead. Our dogs live in a healthy, enriched combined Human and dog family-oriented environment, receiving round-the-clock care, socialization, and love.

Our Family’s Commitment

At our private New York State hobby breeding homestead & farmstead, we are passionately dedicated to the preservation, health, and responsible breeding of three remarkable purebred dog breeds: the ancient Chinese Pug, the majestic Great Pyrenees, and the noble Saint Bernard.

  • Pugs, cherished for their playful and affectionate nature, thrive in our carefully maintained indoor setting.
  • Saint Bernards, renowned for their gentle temperament and protective instincts, are raised to embody strength, kindness, and loyalty.
  • Great Pyrenees, naturally skilled in guarding livestock and families alike, are bred with an emphasis on their ancient working dog heritage.

Whether indoors or on our safe, well-guarded farmstead grounds, our dogs enjoy proper nutrition, exercise, companionship, and top-tier veterinary care beyond routine checkups. Every pup is raised to fit seamlessly into a loving and prepared forever home.

We specialize in the Original Ancient Chinese Purebred Pug, with a mission to preserve and enhance this beloved breed’s heritage.

WTL has successfully applied our well-learned Ancient Chinese Pure Breed Pug Breeding Method, a practice that continuously improves desirable Pug genetics while eliminating the undesirable—resulting in healthier, sturdier Pugs of exemplary quality. Since the year “2000”, Our passionate, studies, practices, and achievements have exceled us into recognition as a responsible Quality Pure Breed Pug Breeder, Caretaker, Therapy Dog Trainer, and Pug Health Care & DNA Expert, while also maintaining the Ongoing Preservation and Enhancement of the Original Ancient Chinese Pure Breed Pug Heritage and the Original Pug Breed Standard…./

This we do, in order to provide a superior quality, healthier and more durable Pug Breed, for the fulfillment of adopting them as Companions into “Pug Loving” Family’s Homes, in order to induce the joyful atmosphere and loving companionship that each and every Pug inevitably brings into any responsible and deserving home…./ ….

Our Expanding Mission

Building on our expertise, WTL remains active in promoting Pure Breed White and Brindle Pugs, developed over 20 years of dedicated genetic study. As part of WTL’s continuous growth, HRF now proudly extends our commitment of responsible breeding and superior health care to Saint Bernard’s and Great Pyrenees, bred with equal dedication to preserving their historical lineage. These majestic breeds known for their intelligence, have their own unique temperament and strengths, making them ideal companions for families, therapy work, and even livestock protection in the case of Great Pyrenees. Just as WTL does with Pugs, HRF focuses on maintaining their original breed characteristics by selective breeding and dedicated health care practices, enhancing their genetics, and ensuring they remain the strong, well-tempered companions they were meant to be.

Pugs: Ancient Charm, Modern Companions

The Pug is an ancient breed originating in China around 400 B.C., where it was prized as a companion to emperors and often lived under royal protection. These cherished dogs later spread to Japan, Russia, and eventually to Europe in the 16th century, capturing the hearts of royalty such as Queen Victoria of England and Prince William of Orange. Pugs are small, compact dogs typically weighing between 14 to 18 pounds, with a short, glossy coat that comes in fawn, black, silver, or apricot. They are instantly recognizable by their wrinkled, flat-muzzled faces, expressive eyes, and curled tails. Personality-wise, Pugs are known for being charming, affectionate, and sociable—playful but dignified companions who adapt well to various living environments. Fun fact: Chinese breeders intentionally shaped the wrinkles on a Pug’s forehead to resemble the character for “prince” (王), further emphasizing their royal legacy.

Great Pyrenees: Noble Livestock Guardians

Great Pyrenees are instinctively excellent farm guard dogs and are widely used as livestock guardian dogs (LGDs). They were originally bred in the Pyrenees Mountains between France and Spain to protect flocks from predators like wolves and bears. Their territorial nature, strong protective instincts, and nocturnal vigilance make them ideal for farm settings. While they are also great home guardians and protectors of their Human family, they are best suited for farm homesteads and prefer the outdoors where they can roam freely and protect livestock. They are known for their gentle temperament with animals
and children, but they are fiercely defensive against outside threats

Saint Bernards: Courageous Companions

Saint Bernard’s are better suited as house guard dogs rather than farm guard dogs. They were originally bred for Human rescue work by the hospice of the Great ST Bernard Pass on the Italian-Swiss border. While they have a large, intimidating presence and a deep bark that easily deters intruders. Their gentle temperament towards their Human family makes them excellent family dogs and loyal companions, while they also have strong instincts and excel at watchful protection of their Human family against any outside threats. Saints require 24/7 outdoor access but often prefer spending time indoors.

=====================================

Hi my name is Mindy. My husband and I got our 2nd Pug from the Walk The Line family about two years ago. She has been a wonderful joy to us especially since we have no children. We have stayed in touch with WTL on and off for pug care questions etc. and we now have decided to add another pug to our family. We have always been very happy with our first girl from them, she has a great personality and has always been very healthy. We would never go elsewhere for a pug than WTL because their support is unbeatable!

Dolores O’Riordan’s rendition of Go Your Own Way—performed with The Cranberries for a Fleetwood Mac tribute in the late ’90s— is notable for its dynamic contrast and emotional authenticity, showcasing O’Riordan’s ability to balance sweetness with raw force… Guitarist Noel Hogan also contributes a standout solo, giving the track a fresh edge while honoring Lindsey Buckingham’s original work… It’s a rare example of a tribute that feels both reverent and distinctly personal…

INTRODUCTION

🐾 Welcome to Our 100-Acre Family Farmstead

…..Here on our expansive and lovingly maintained 100-acre Farmstead, we raise not only part of our human family, but also a cherished community of Dogs, Horses, and a variety of other productive, working small farm animals… Every creature here is nurtured with purpose and compassion—not for consumption, but for companionship, therapy, and meaningful work… We are devoted Animal Caretakers, not consumers…

🐶 Our Beloved Breeds: Pugs, Saint Bernards & Great Pyrenees

…..Among our family are our most treasured Purebred Pugs, our majestic Saint Bernards, and our noble Great Pyrenees… Our Dogs are raised both indoors and outdoors within our safely and thoughtfully modified Farmstead—not in kennels, but in a home-like environment that reflects our deep respect for their well-being… Each dog is bred and raised to be a household companion, therapy animal, or protective working partner, with a temperament and health profile that reflects our decades of responsible breeding…

.....Our Pugs are the heart of a unique, health-oriented breeding program rooted in ancient Chinese techniques passed down through family friends… This method enhances the breed’s DNA, promoting strong, desirable traits while minimizing frail characteristics… The result: generations of exceptionally healthy, vibrant Pugs that bring joy and comfort to families across the country…

.....Our Saint Bernards and Great Pyrenees, known for their gentle strength and loyal nature, are raised with equal care and attention… These breeds thrive in our spacious pastures and secure outdoor areas, where they serve as both loving companions and vigilant guardians of our Farmstead, land and livestock…

🐴 Horses & Farm Animals: Purposeful Lives in Purpose-Built Spaces

…..Our horses and small farm animals are housed in custom-built shelters with attached play, exercise, and pasture areas, designed to meet their specific needs… Many of our animal spaces are integrated with human living areas, creating a shared environment that fosters connection—but also demands rigorous safety protocols… With large animals and active working breeds, the potential for danger is real, and we take every precaution to ensure the safety of both humans and animals…

🚫 Boundaries: Safety First, Always

…..Due to the nature of our work and the responsibilities we shoulder daily—including unpredictable weather, breeding schedules, and animal care—visitation is strictly limited… Appointments must be made in advance and are reserved for approved serious inquiries and contracted adoptive parents only… Our safety regulations are non-negotiable and exist to protect everyone involved…

.....Many people, out of ignorance or entitlement, fail to understand the risks of public access to a private breeding and working farm and how this causes the owners great concern… There are many things that have to be considered… Yes disease prevention, maternal stress, and the safety of baby animals are paramount… But so too is the safety of our human family, our visitors, the safety of our Dogs, Horses, or any other farm animals and the security from any getting loose or being upset to the point of potentially causing their reckless & dangerous behavior to themselves or others… Have you ever been confronted by an angered 1200 pound Horse Stallion, or a 2000 pound Bull, & would you or more importantly your children know how to handle the situation..!

.....We cannot monitor other people’s children or pets & keep them from interfering or getting themselves into trouble or a dangerous situation… We cannot control where visitors have recently been, what other Virus infected or contagious Canines that they have recently been in contact with, and consequently what potentially dangerous and/or deadly Canine Virus that they may be bringing into our grounds on their shoes or clothing unaware, such as the ferocious puppy killer “Parvovirus”… We cannot trust the unknown general public’s integrity or the honesty of their intentions & motives for visiting us as being strictly for what they are supposed to be… Etc., etc., etc..

.....We also must safeguard our privacy, property, equipment, and privacy from theft, damage, or intrusion… Liability insurance requirements also further restrict what strict safety guidelines that we have to adhere to…

.....It is for these reasons & many more that visitations are very limited to very serious inquirers, and already contracted adoptive parents only & visitations are also governed by strict safety rules for everyone’s benefit, that must be adhered to…

🛡️ Integrity, Reputation & Responsibility

…..We have nothing to hide—despite what some may wrongly assume about responsible breeders who prioritize protection… Our impeccable reputation speaks for itself: since “2000”, the WTL & HRF family has bred purebred Dogs with a focus on health, temperament, and genetic integrity developing a history of having provided many extremely healthy & congenital defect free Dogs as is attested to by our many very satisfied Adoptive Parents...

.....We are also proudly recognized by the American Kennel Club as a responsible Pug breeder in good standing, and we maintain a highly visible and reputable online presence…

.....We accept deposits and payments only through secure, state- and federally-regulated platforms that prohibit fraudulent activity.

.....We have a highly visible & very reputable web site to go along with our long lasting reputable reputation… We have a strong & reputable “internet presence”… Our website features legitimate “TESIMONIALS” from well satisfied adoptive families who have experienced firsthand the quality and care we provide… In fact, we are currently recognized by Google as the #1 Pug Breeder in New York State—a distinction earned through years of dedication and transparency…

.....We have an excellent, very limited, very Pug Health Care orientated Breeding program that involves a very unique Pure Breed Pug, Breed enhancing technique developed by our family friends Chinese Ancestors… This technique allows us the benefit of producing extremely healthy Pugs, by continually enhancing our Pug bloodlines & strengthening our Pug DNA with each generation going forward… The technique allows us to promote the strong desired traits that are within the Pug Breed DNA, while also being able to decrease or eliminate the more frail characteristics that are inherit within the Pug Breed… Our “PUGS OF DISTINCTION” browser tab offers a deep dive into our breeding philosophy and practices… Though still under construction, it reflects our commitment to education, honesty, and excellence…

❤️ A Life of Devotion

…..This Farmstead is not a retail pet shop—it is our home, our sanctuary, and the center of our life’s work… Our devotion to our animals is a 24/7/365 commitment that few can truly understand… We do this not for profit, but for purpose… And if we weren’t all of the above—family, caretakers, breeders, protectors—we simply wouldn’t still be here…

(end of introduction)

==========================================

🏡 Visiting the Farmstead – Our General Visitation Policy Begins Here

+

Our Detailed Visitation Rules & Prerequires List: Follows Down Below The Pic Of Our Horse “Ambrosia”

…..We know that meeting our dogs in person and seeing where they are raised is an important and enjoyable experience… At the same time, our farmstead where all of our Dogs are whelped, raised, cared for, and sheltered is also our home… This said, the health, safety, and security of our Family and our Animals, is our top priority, which is also extended to our Visitors… Therefore, if you would like to visit “Our Home”, then we want to get to know you a little bit first, wouldn’t you require the same safety/courtesy, or do you let just any stranger into your home!!!

…..To balance these factors, we have an updated Visitation Policy that helps us ensure visits are enjoyable, safe, and stress-free for both humans, our Dogs, and our Farm Animals… We strive to be welcoming and transparent, and we love sharing our passion with fellow Dog lovers – however, we just schedule things a bit carefully… Directly below is a generalization of our visitation guidelines…

🌤 Seasonal Availability:

…..On-site visits are typically offered during the warmer months… Our normal “Open Farm” visitation season runs roughly from April 1st through November, weather permitting… Upstate New York winters can be extremely harsh (temperatures often drop well below freezing down to -30, heavy snow can make travel to our farm and around the farm grounds very difficult), so during the deep winter months we normally pause routine visits for everyone’s safety… Likewise, in the peak of summer, we may limit visits on very hot days mostly for the safety of our Brachycephalic Pugs who do not tolerate heat well… This seasonal approach ensures that when you do visit, you’ll have a safe and comfortable experience walking the farm and meeting our Dogs…

📅 By Appointment Only:

…..All visits to WTL & HRF must be scheduled by appointment in advance – we do not accommodate drop-in visitors… Because we are a small family operation with many daily responsibilities, we are only able to dedicate organized time slots for productive visits… You can arrange a visit once you have provided us with your Adoption Application and Administration Fee... “ADOPT APPLY PUGS” or “ADOPT APPLY PYRS & SAINTS”…

…Once having done so, simply let us know when you are ready and we will then arrange a mutually suitable date and time… We typically host visits afternoons, on weekends or select weekdays when we normally can give you our best attention… This appointment system allows us to properly prepare for your arrival and make sure the dogs you’re interested in meeting are prepared and eager to meet you… It also ensures we don’t overlap visits and can maintain a safe and calm environment on our farm…

🐶 Purpose of Visits (Who Can Visit?):

…..Our farm is not a public petting zoo, so we primarily welcome those who are seriously interested in adopting a puppy or those who are already part of our extended dog family… If you have a confirmed adoption in process (for example, you’ve been approved to adopt a puppy from an upcoming litter), we will definitely arrange for you to meet us, see the environment, and when appropriate, meet the puppy parents… In most cases, the actual adoption pickup of your puppy will happen in person at the farm or if desired, potentially at another designated location… When possible, we also love to host occasional “pup reunions” for our past adopters – seeing our grown puppies come back for a visit with their happy families is a joy for us! If you’re a past adopter planning on passing through the area, let us know well in advance and we’ll do our best to schedule a quick reunion visit… For casual inquiries or folks just wanting to tour the farm without a specific adoption interest, we do not allow those visits for many safety and privacy reasons in addition to avoid disrupting our already too busy routine… However, we are happy to answer new inquirers questions via contact form/email/text/phone and we also provide plenty of information on our web site for those in the early stages of considering a WTL or HRF puppy…

⚠️ Visitor Guidelines & Safety:

…..We take precautions to prevent exposure to deadly Canine diseases being brought into our farm such as Parvovirus, which can hitch a ride on shoes or clothing and other Animals… Dogs of all ages are susceptible to many life threatening Canine illnesses… Our young puppies have developing immune systems, not all of their vaccinations yet, etc., not to mention strangers are also emotionally disruptive to their daily routine, safe & secure atmosphere...Therefore we keep especially our unknown outside visitors to a minimum… When you do visit, we will brief you on a few simple rules to keep everyone safe… Our farm includes not just our Dogs, but also Horses, other farm Animals, dangerous farming equipment, ongoing construction, etc… Therefore we insist that visitors follow our instructions closely during the tour…

…Due to the above mentioned potential hazards, Children are not advised… Also please do not bring any Pets or other Animals from the outside to our farm when visiting… This is both for the safety of your family, animals and ours…

…We may also ask that you sanitize your hands (or even your shoes) when entering the property and we do not allow physical interacting with any puppies other than yours at the actual adoption… We know our visitors are fellow dog lovers, so we appreciate your understanding in these measures… By following a few safety steps, you’re helping us protect the health of our pups and adult dogs while visiting our farm…

❄️ Winter and Special Arrangements:

…..As noted, during the dangerous hot summer days and cold winter, we generally do not host visits due to snow, ice, and subzero temperatures that make travel and farm access challenging… In special circumstances (such as an adopter who cannot travel easily or an emergency situation), we may arrange an alternative meeting location… For example, we’ve met adopters at easier-to-reach locations or even at their own homes in rare cases to deliver a puppy, especially if weather or distance is a barrier… These instances are handled case-by-case and at our ability and discretion, no adoptions shall be contingent on our ability to do so… This we do as part of our commitment to making sure a great home can welcome a pup even if logistics are tricky… If you have concerns about traveling to us, just let us know at the onset and we’ll see what options might be possible…

📲 Virtual Connect & Updates:

…..Even if you can’t visit the farm in person, we make sure you feel connected to the process of adopting your puppy… We embrace a modern adoption process that many reputable breeders use these days… This includes thorough communication by email/text/phone, a fair and legal adoption contract to reserve your puppy, and then providing you with regular photo and video updates of the growing litter… From the puppies’ first weeks up until they’re ready to go home, as an additional contract option, we’ll share pictures and milestones… Many of our adoptive families have found this virtual connection incredibly reassuring and enjoyable – you get to watch your puppy grow up in real time, without needing multiple in-person visits during the fragile early weeks… By the time adoption day comes, you’ll have seen the pups play and develop, and we’ll happily answer any questions you have along the way… This approach has worked wonderfully over the years, resulting in happy families and well-prepared pups, all while keeping everyone safe and comfortable with limited unnecessary travel…

…Of course, if at any point you do want to visit and it’s feasible, we’ll do our best to accommodate an in-person meeting as described above…

💬 Final Thoughts & Scheduling:

…..In summary, we love having visitors and sharing our passion, but our time is very limited and visits are planned carefully around the needs of our dogs and everyone’s safety… If you’d like to arrange a visit or learn more about our visitation policy, please reach out – we’d be delighted to discuss and, if possible, schedule a time for you to experience our farmstead firsthand… Your cooperation with scheduling and guidelines ensures that we can continue welcoming guests without compromising on the care of our Animals… We truly enjoy meeting the people who will potentially become forever families for our puppies, and we want your visit to be memorable, informative, and fun!

…If you click on our browser tab above labeled “TESTIMONIALS”, you can read several previous Adoptive Parents comments on their Adoption experiences…

🏡 Visiting the Farmstead

DETAILED VISITATION RULES & PREREQUISITES ARE JUST BELOW THE 2 PICS

======================================================

“AMBROSIA”

🚫 Detailed Visitation Rules & Prerequisites Introduction

Please understand that visitations to our Farmstead are strictly reserved for genuinely committed Dog enthusiasts and confirmed adoptive parents only. We are not a petting zoo, nor do we operate as a public attraction. Our time and energy are devoted entirely to the care, training, and well-being of our animals and family—leaving little room for casual visits or those who are “just looking.”

We kindly ask that prospective visitors respect the nature of our work and the sanctity of our home. Every moment here is accounted for, from feeding schedules and health checks to breeding oversight and facility maintenance. Welcoming guests who are not sincerely invested in adoption or breed education would compromise the safety, privacy, and focus we work so hard to maintain.

That said, we take great pride in what we’ve built. While we may not be a million-dollar operation, we are a deeply honest and humble family-run Farmstead with a reputation for excellence. Once you’ve explored what we offer—whether through our website, testimonials, or direct communication—we’re confident you’ll find that our integrity, dedication, and the quality of our animals speak for themselves.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
OUR DETAILED VISITATION RULES & PREREQUISITES:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

1) 🐾 Adoption Application Process

Our website features two dedicated application portals tailored to each breed group:

  • “ADOPT APPLY PUGS”
  • “ADOPT APPLY PYRS & SAINTS”

…..To be considered for a potential Dog adoption, prospective families must complete and submit the appropriate strictly held confidential application form(s)… Each submission is handled with the utmost discretion and care…
💬 Please note: All applications are thoroughly reviewed by our small private family team… Formal approval is required before any visit to our Farmstead can be scheduled… This ensures the safety, privacy, and well-being of both our family, our animals, and our visitors…

2) Administrative Deposit Policy

A $200 administrative deposit is required to schedule a visit and must be submitted via the “MAKE A PAYMENT” portal on our website… This deposit is made with the clear understanding that:

  • 🐾 If you proceed with adopting a Dog—or have already done so—your deposit will be applied toward your adoption fee.
  • 🚫 If no adoption occurs, the deposit is non-refundable.

…..Scheduling a visit to our Farmstead is a meaningful commitment… Each visit requires significant preparation and temporarily disrupts or halts the daily rhythm routines of our operations… To ensure the safety and comfort of all animals—including our Dogs, Horses, and Livestock—we must secure enclosures, adjust feeding and exercise schedules, and prepare our meeting facility to suit your specific adoption interests. In colder months, this includes lighting and maintaining our wood stove to create a warm, welcoming space…
…..At least one member of our family dedicates their time to both the preparation and hosting of your visit… These efforts are not only labor-intensive and costly, but they also impact our family’s personal time and the overall harmony of our Farmstead…
…..This deposit helps offset those disruptions and ensures that visits are reserved for serious, adoption-ready applicants who share our commitment to responsible and ethical animal care…

3) 🐾 Adoption Agreement & Visitor Assurance Policy Please Note:

A formal Dog Adoption Agreement must be completed and formally entered into prior to scheduling a Farmstead visit… This ensures that all applicants are fully informed and aligned with our standards of care, safety, and ethical breeding practices…
…..Following your scheduled visit to our Farmstead, you retain the unconditional right to cancel the adoption process at any time and for any reason—should you choose to do so… This option is extended to every applicant as part of our commitment to transparency and trust…
…..While this safeguard remains available, we respectfully note that—since our founding—it has never been exercised… We believe this reflects the clarity of our process, the quality of our care, and the confidence our visitors feel after meeting our animals and experiencing our environment firsthand…

4) 📝 Liability Waiver Requirement

Subsequently, also prior to your scheduled Farmstead visit, you will also receive a liability insurance waiver via email…
…..We kindly ask that you review the document thoroughly, sign it, and return it to us by email to confirm your understanding and agreement to its terms… Completion of this waiver is required to finalize your visit preparations with us, and ensures we can provide a safe and transparent experience for all guests…

5) 🌿 Welcome to HRF & WTL Farmstead:

Where Companionship Meets Discovery We’re delighted to welcome you to our Farmstead, a mutually convenient site visit can now be arranged………………………………………………………………………………………………… …..We are also happy to assist with hotel accommodations if needed, for guests traveling from afar… In addition, we can also provide recommendations for exploring our region’s world-renowned 1000 Islands region—an unforgettable destination nestled along the majestic Saint Lawrence River…
We are proudly located in the Saint Lawrence River Farming Zone of Northern New York, where rural country charm meets breathtaking natural beauty…………………………………………………………………………………… …..Your visit offers more than just meaningful time with our beloved Dogs and Farm Animals—it’s also an opportunity to experience one of the Northeast’s most celebrated natural and cultural destinations… From scenic river cruises and historic castles to vibrant local markets and nature trails, the region invites you to linger, explore, and connect…

6) 🚫 Visitor Policy Reminder As Detailed Above:

Visitors, Children & Outside Animals
To preserve the integrity, safety, and health of our grounds—including our private family, our outdoors animals, and especially our Pugs & Nursery health Care environment—no unknown outside animals or unscheduled visitors of any age are permitted on WTL property under any circumstances… Only folks who have an already approved adoption contract or have already previously adopted are allowed, by appointment only…

👶 Children Under 16………………………………………………………. Children under the age of 16 are only allowed on-site if they are actively enrolled in one of our structured programs:

…..All children’s participation must also be accompanied by a signed insurance waiver endorsed by a parent or legal guardian…

  • Dog Therapy Training
  • Horse Therapy & Riding Instruction
  • Pet Ownership Education

❤️ We Love Children & Animals—But Please Keep Yours Safe at Home
…..While we deeply value the joy and companionship that children and pets bring, for safety reasons they are not permitted during visits… Unfamiliar animals pose serious health risks, including the potential transmission of viruses such as Parvovirus, which could compromise our nursery and other vulnerable residents… Likewise, children are too susceptible to farming hazards, etc.—though well-meaning—may unintentionally disrupt the delicate environment we maintain for our animals and guests…

🐾 Rest Assured—Our Pugs Are Family-Ready
…..Small children may perhaps want to participate in the ability to assist you in choosing a puppy, however your child will most likely be overjoyed with any Dog you bring home… Our Dogs are carefully socialized and typically acclimate beautifully to most all children and compatible non aggressive household pets… Our dogs are also well known for their gentle, easily adaptable nature… However, we must prioritize the safety of all parties during the qualification and adoption process…
…..Thank you for respecting our protocols and helping us maintain the highest standards of care and professionalism…

7) 🚻 Visitor Facilities & Hygiene Notice

To ensure the comfort and safety of all guests and animals, please note the following:

  • Public restrooms are not available on our farmstead grounds, in our office building, or within our private residence.
  • However, McDonald’s and other public facilities are conveniently located within a short distance in either direction.
  • We kindly ask that all visitors use these facilities and wash hands thoroughly prior to arrival.
Thank you for respecting our boundaries and helping us maintain a clean, safe environment for everyone—especially our animals.

8) 🐾 Important Health & Safety Notice for Scheduled Visits

To protect the health and safety of our animals, we kindly ask that you schedule your visit with Hard Rock Farm as the only canine breeder or kennel you visit on the day of your appointment…
…..This precaution helps us minimize the risk of environmental contamination from outside sources… Even brief contact with other Dogs—especially those unknowingly carrying infectious or contagious conditions—can pose a serious threat to our grounds and the well-being of our Animals…
…..We deeply appreciate your cooperation and commitment to responsible visitation… Your care helps us maintain a safe, clean, and healthy environment for every Animal in our care…

9) 🐾 Visitor Guidelines for On-Site Meetings & Tours

We’re honored to welcome you to our Farmstead… To ensure the safety, comfort, and well-being of our animals and family, we ask that all visitors kindly observe the following on premise guidelines:

  • 📍Meeting Location ………………………………………………………………………….. All scheduled meetings will take place initially inside our designated Farmstead office/meeting building, located in one of the small adjacent structures on our grounds.
  • This space is separate from our private family home and has been prepared to accommodate guests in a professional and welcoming environment.
  • 🌿 Optional Grounds Tour ……………………………………………………………. Upon request, a brief guided tour of the immediate compound grounds may be offered following your meeting.
  • Please note: For safety and privacy reasons, access to our horse and farm animal barns, housings, and pastures is strictly prohibited. Entry into our private home is also not permitted.
  • 🐶 Dogs Viewing Protocol ……………………………………………………………. Visitors may view the outdoor Dogs play and exercise area from a safe, nearby vantage point.
  • This 5-acre enclosure is built with 8-foot-high, AKC-approved heavy-duty steel mesh and a masonry footer to ensure the segregated safety of our Dogs and prevent unauthorized access or predator intrusion.
  • While visual interaction through the open kennel mesh is welcome, no visitor may enter the enclosure or physically interact with the Dogs unless it is during the official pickup of their own already adopted Dog.
  • 🏡 Indoor Dog Spaces …………………………………………………………………… Our indoor Dog bedding area is located within our private Homestead and designed as a shared Pug/human family space to foster a clean, safe, and socially enriching environment.
  • For privacy and health reasons, this area is not open to visitors under any circumstances.
  • 🐾 Nursery & Puppy Safety ………………………………………………………….. Absolutely no visitors are permitted inside our Pug Nursery.
  • Dog puppies under 16 weeks of age or until all vaccinations completed, will not be brought outdoors simply for viewing or interaction unless it is during the official pickup of their own already adopted Dog. .
  • The presence of unfamiliar individuals can cause significant stress and anxiety for our Dogs, especially nursing mothers.
  • Additionally, the risk of canine virus transmission through direct human contact poses a serious health threat especially to our pups.
We appreciate your understanding and respect for these protocols, which are designed to protect the health, safety, and emotional well-being of our animals and preserve the integrity of our breeding environment.

10) 🛡️ Protecting Our Nursery: Why Strict Protocols Are Essential for Puppy Safety

At Hard Rock Farm & Walk The Line, the health and survival of our puppies is not left to chance… We cannot control where visitors have recently been, what virus-carrying canines they may have encountered, or what pathogens they might unknowingly carry in on their clothing, shoes, or skin… One of the most devastating threats is the highly contagious and deadly Canine Parvovirus—a ferocious puppy killer that can silently hitch a ride into even the cleanest environments…
…..If Parvovirus were ever introduced into our Nursery through outside human or animal contact, it could swiftly infect and kill not only your selected puppy, but potentially every puppy in our care who has not yet completed their full inoculation regimen… While newborns receive initial antibodies through their Dam’s colostrum during the first 48 hours of life, this passive immunity is not sufficient to protect them from aggressive viruses like Parvo…

🚫 Restricted Access for Critical Protection
…..For this reason, our nursing Dams and all puppies under 16 weeks of age—those still undergoing their essential “puppy shot regimen”—are strictly off-limits to the general public… During these vulnerable early stages and throughout the weaning process, we do not permit any contact from non-caregiving humans or outside animals… This is not a matter of preference—it is a matter of survival…
…..Only our trained Pug caretaker family members, who are well-versed in canine disease prevention and adhere to rigorous safety protocols, are allowed inside the Nursery… This space is maintained as a “Kid Gloves” environment, designed to shield our Dams and puppies from both biological threats and the stress caused by unfamiliar visitors…

🏥 Our Nursery: A Canine ICU
…..Our Nursery is under 24/7/365 surveillance and care, and is treated with the same seriousness as a hospital ICU… During late pregnancy through final weaning, each Dam is kept entirely separate from other animals and enjoys her own private, indoor living space and sheltered outdoor potty/exercise area… This segregation is vital to maintaining a sterile, low-stress environment…

📸 A Safe Alternative: Weekly Puppy Updates
…..To ensure adoptive families remain connected to their chosen puppy while honoring our safety protocols, we offer a pre-adoption contract option that includes access to a private puppy photo gallery… This gallery features weekly photo updates and occasional videos, allowing you to witness your puppy’s growth and milestones without compromising their health or the integrity of our Nursery…

11) 📵 Respecting Privacy: Our No-Camera Policy & Photo Sharing Protocol

At Hard Rock Farm & Walk The Line, we take the privacy of our family, animals, and property almost as seriously as we take the health and safety of our Animals… No cameras or video recording devices are permitted on our grounds under any circumstances… This policy is non-negotiable and exists to protect our private residence, our human family, and the integrity of our Farmstead…
…..WTL is a private, family-run sanctuary, not a public facility or commercial showroom… We do not allow photographs of our home, grounds, animals, or family members to be taken or shared—especially in ways that could be exploited, misrepresented, or used without authorization online or elsewhere…

📸 Thoughtful Photo Access for Adoptive Families
…..If you adopt a Pug from us and choose our optional photo gallery, you will receive a curated collection of images documenting your puppy’s journey—from birth through adoption. These photos are taken with care and discretion by our trained caretakers and are shared directly with you via email in a timely and respectful manner.
…..Once your puppy is home with you, you’ll have a lifetime of opportunities to capture memories together. But until then, we retain full control over all photography involving our animals and property to ensure safety, privacy, and ethical representation.

12) ♿ Accessibility Notice: Limited Access on Farm Grounds

Please be advised that Hard Rock Farm is a private, working Farmstead and does not offer handicapped-accessible infrastructure or assistance at this time… This includes no wheelchair ramps, ADA-compliant pathways, or accessible entry to our office, meeting areas, or any other locations on the property…
…..We kindly ask all visitors and prospective adoptive families to bear this in mind when planning any in-person interactions… Our priority remains the safety and well-being of our animals and caretakers, and while we strive to accommodate all families in spirit, our physical environment is not equipped for universal access…
…..If you have specific needs or concerns, we encourage you to reach out in advance so we can explore alternative ways to support your adoption journey—whether through virtual meetings, photo updates, or other remote personalized communication…

13) 🚫 Grounds Conduct Policy: What’s Not Allowed

To ensure the health, safety, and comfort of our animals, guests, and staff, we maintain a strict no-consumption policy across all areas of the property… The following items are not permitted anywhere on the grounds:

  • Smoking of any kind
  • Chewing gum or tobacco
  • Alcohol or recreational drugs
  • Food or beverages of any sort
    ✅ Exceptions:
  • Bottled water that is opened on-site is allowed.
  • Required prescription medications are permitted only if stored and consumed in your vehicle, which will remain parked between our main outer entry and the inner safety gate.
We appreciate your cooperation in helping us maintain a clean, safe, and respectful environment for all.

✅ Final Note: Visitation Policy & Safety Commitment
…..This concludes the WALK THE LINE PUG RANCH visitation prerequisites and safety guidelines…
These policies have been thoughtfully developed over many years, shaped by a wide range of experiences—both positive and challenging—with the general public… While some rules may seem strict, we stand by them firmly. As the saying goes:
“It Is What It Is… and It Is What It Is, For Good Reason.”
…..Our visitation policy exists to uphold the highest standards of welfare, safety, and protection—for your family, our family, our animals, and our property…
We sincerely thank you in advance for your understanding, cooperation, and respect…

Registration & Pedigree Information

Walk The Line Pug’s and Hard Rock Farm’s Noble Giants litters are eligible for official registration based on their purebred heritage. Registrations may be processed through AKC Kennel Club. (United States) the United Kennel Club, (Internationally) CKC Kennel Club, (Canada) or the National General Kennel Club (China), (standard restricted use).

Registration papers are included as a standard part of our Puppy Adoption Packages, provided upon initial request and in compliance with the terms outlined in the case-specific WTL or HRF Adoption Contract. In instances where a spay/neuter agreement is required, registration documents will only be released upon full compliance with that agreement.

Once the adoptive family has submitted all required documentation and the puppy has reached the appropriate age (per the adoption agreement), registration papers are sent via regular U.S. Mail. Additionally, full pedigrees are available upon request and assessed case-by-case for an additional fee.

Commitment to Purebred Excellence

Our canines are strictly purebred, coming from bloodlines that are exceptionally healthy, free of disease, and devoid of congenital defects. Despite common misconceptions, hybrids and mixed breeds often introduce unpredictable and undesirable genetic complications. Only through a well-orchestrated and conscientious purebred breeding program can we ensure the healthiest, most immune-efficient, and genetically sound offspring.

Due to the widespread misuse and irresponsible breeding practices common in the industry, we rarely offer registration papers with breeding rights. However, unrestricted registration may be granted under special circumstances—reserved only for individuals who demonstrate, through our detailed Canine Adoption Application process, either a sound reason or a proven record of responsible breeding experience.

~ Testimonial by Lynda & Kevin Rouser, Massachusetts ~
“We started working with Walk The Line a year ago on the pre-adoption of two puppies. The level of attention and devotion they showed was unparalleled, as if we were the only adoptive family with whom they were working. Their knowledge about the breed and best health care practices are unsurpassed. The gallery was a constant source of delight and amazement as we watched our girls grow from newborns to the 10-wk old wonders we picked up in August, 2012. We could not be more pleased with our decision to pursue an adoption through Walk The Line; our girls are remarkably healthy, spunky, sweet-natured, and simply gorgeous. It was well worth the eight-hour drive to pick them up, and they were gracious enough to spend as much time as we needed to review the comprehensive binder and materials that are included as part of their adoption package. We do not hesitate in recommending and/or referring others to Walk The Line. Thanks for bringing so much joy into our lives! ”

The best of the best! Lynda
